Just received the CGS going into second year phd in political science - score 17.4 - 4 conference presentations - no publications - A/A+ MA average. I might be the happiest person on earth right now. My sincerest condolences to anyone who got unlucky - we all know its a coin flip - all the best everyone!!! Oh and it was sent to Aurora (near Toronto)

Just a hypothesis, but I suspect you need a higher score to get the SSHRC funding than the CGS funding, even though the latter is worth more, because after 1st year PhD you cannot apply for it anymore.

My status hasn't changed yet... so don't get your hopes up too much (like I just did... lol)... congrats though!

No cc05... if you get OGS then Brock may take some of your scholarship/fellowship away, but you can still definitely get OGS.

I hear ya Lymrance... it's torture. I've gone over my proposal so many times in my head that I think I could deliver it as a speech without forgetting a single word... it sometimes feels like I've put everything on red and am now watching the roulette wheel spin. I guess the true test of character is what you do if it lands on black

I emailed SSHRC yesterday asking very specific questions about the likelihood of meeting deadline and some other stuff for Doctoral, here's the reply I got from the anonymous SSHRC representative this morning: "The applicants will be informed first by letter in the regular mail around mid to end of April. Letters might be going out next week. Their will be one score on the letters." Hope this doesn't cause more anxiety than relief to my fellow competitors... good luck everyone!!!!!!

Hi everyone, Title really says all... I'm wondering if my university ranking is considered by sshrc once the application has been passed on to national competition? I've heard contradictory stuff on this... My application is for sshrc/cgs, and I'm currently in 1st year phd. Thanks!
