  1. Sorry, just so I understand you: you're saying it would be worth it to go to Georgetown? What about it makes it a stronger program than the one at GW? I'm very tempted by the class sizes at GT. I'll also admit I'm blown away that I was accepted to such a prestigious school, so that's part of the appeal of GT for me. I don't want to make the decision based just on prestige though, you know?

Sugarhouse has a handful of homeopathic/organic stores. That's not my thing, so I don't know about their quality. The East Bench area of Salt Lake (which includes the U campus and Sugarhouse) is fairly progressive, so I'm sure what you're looking for will not be difficult to find.

Agreed. What's nice about the U is, you get a free bus pass and the buses all have bike racks on the front.
  4. I did my undergrad there if you have any questions about the campus or SLC in general .
  5. I got admitted to both George Washington and Georgetown for Fall 2011. I did not receive any funding. Is Georgetown worth the extra $15k a year?

  8. They just said they'd let me know as soon as possible--no actual time frame.
  9. I got my letter from American in the mail today. I got waitlisted. So I guess it's a decision between GT and Elliott.
  10. money shot
  11. Hey, I hope you get into American! I'm sure the waiting is killing you.

  13. I'll be 31 by the time I matriculate if that makes you feel any better.
  14. Ha, there goes my theory then .
  15. For what it's worth, I submitted mine on the day before they were due. When I emailed them, they said that I was in the last batch. So when decisions are sent *may* have something to do with when it was turned in. Just my conjecture.
  16. I just found out that I got admitted to the Latin American Studies program. Holy crap! This was a reach school for me. I'm in shock.

  19. I've scoured the SFS website for updated placement statistics (what grads did after they graduated), but I've only been able to find a report from 2005 and an undergrad report for 2010. Does anyone know where I can find this information for grad students? Thanks!
  20. I applied a day or two before the date of the general MSFS deadline, January 10th or something like that.
  21. Yeah, weird, right? I saw some other acceptances on the results page, so I don't know what to think about that. The CLAS website does say they're accepting applications till April 1st . . .
  22. I emailed Georgetown to ask them what the crap was going on with my application (in nicer terms, of course . I heard back from them within a few hours, which was very refreshing. They told me that the Latin American Studies program doesn't even look at applications till April 1st, but because it's such a small programs, they make their decisions very quickly. So I'm guessing I'll be hearing them by April 15th.
  23. I'm still waiting for 2 universities: American and Georgetown. I emailed American this week and they said they'd send out my decision the first week of April. I'm think they process the apps depending on when they arrived. I applied the day before the application deadline, so I'm pretty sure that's why mine is taking so long. It was rather disheartening to hear everyone on here getting their admit/reject letters and me, nada. I'm pretty sure I got into American since I got into George Washington, but you never know. As for GT, I have no idea what's going on over there.
  24. I don't know about those schools in particular, but to me, a Master in Liberal Arts/Studies is as useless as a Bachelor degree in Liberal Arts (in terms of getting a job after graduation). I've gotten a couple emails about getting a Masters in Liberal Studies from some schools because of the GRE referral service and I've been underwhelmed by the usefulness of the degree. Just my opinion
