  1. That's a cool project, but oh my that sounds like a year of mosquito bites!
  2. I was afraid that was the case, im keepin my fingers crossed for you guys! and thought maybe there are some full grant lurkers out there?
  3. Are there any Italy people lurking out there? Maybe you are shy and want to email me directly, I'd love to know anyone headed there too - khkirby at sbcglobal.net
  4. Oh yes this is in SF. and this is an in-network doctor, and I pay extra on top of what my employer pays to have the better insurance! phew. ok. rant over!
  5. Oh and this is on top of the $500 for just the office visit, which thank god was covered. I guess it costs $1000 to go to the Dr. I should write to Obama haha.
  6. Nope. I didn't even get the pap, just lab work. Apparently only 2 of the tests are considered preventative and because of that, my insurance won't pay. where is the dislike button on that shiz?!
  7. I just told my dr. that i had my last pap within the year and the results were normal. she just filled in the necessary info based on that.
  8. Really? wow that's cheap. my first bill was for $40, but that was just for the visit. My bill for the lab tests is over $400, and then add on top of that the taxi to the Dr's on my lunch break and the courier service to drop off the papers...ugh I hate health insurance, I think I'm better off without it.
  9. It is totally frustrating. You know what else is frustrating? getting the bill after all those stupid tests, just to confirm what I already knew!! Did anyone else pay a ton or was it just me (and this is with insurance!)
  10. yeah we do! I took mostly italian classes but a few others as well...but that was way back in 2003! Turning that thesis in is going to feel soooo gooood
  11. Congrats ubiubi! I went to Pitzer and took oh soooo many classes at Scripps!
  12. Yeah I'd say scam too, but that seems like a legit email address. weird.
  13. I have a question for everyone who's had their medical form completed already - did your doctor write anything in section 58? It's the part where they are supposed to comment on their "significant findings". I'm in really good health and she marked me as able to perform the lecture research stuff in the following section...but nothing in section 58. Is it worth a 4th trip back to my Dr's office to have this filled out before i send it to IIE?
  14. Yeah I am not doing the optional tests either. Once you see the Dr. they will help you out with this a little bit, but no, don't take the optional tests if you don't want to, especially for Spain. I think for W. Europe the tests are the standard ones, I mean, we don't even have an orientation in the summer so I don't think there is anything extra you have to do. and congrats!
  15. I think it's still messed up, the italy ETA entries have disappeared and Indolinguist is apparently now going to italy
  16. thanks for all your work on the spreadsheet! can you approve me, i'm yopeaceart@gmail, thanks!

  17. uh oh tweety, I think it's time to brush up on the current affairs in the US...
  18. I'll be in Rome for 6 months, then Padova for 3. ACK I hope you get it!! fingers crossed for you!

  19. Yes i did receive it in the mail today. i'm still in shock and haven't posted about it yet, since I want you guys to hear back too!

  20. yes, but I fully support this behavior. haha. is it just my phone or did that other italy person erase his info?
  21. someone from italy heard?! crap im out if town with no computer, dont get home until 11pm ARG!
  22. I think we are all as mystified by the selection process as you are!
  23. Nice! How do you like Florida? I'm secretly obsessed with Miami haha
  24. OMG i think i just threw up a little. SO NERVOUS.
