    Bikes

I am also a pretty committed bike commuter (to and from work at least) and am planning to ditch my car before moving to DC, so I will be riding a lot more. I have a Dahon Boardwalk S1 - it's the cheapest model that Dahon makes. It is a one speed folding bike, which makes it extremely portable. It does not ride nearly as well as a non-folder, but it does enable me to do things that I may not be able to otherwise, like store it at my cubicle, carry it in my trunk, and store compactly in my apartment. If you are tight on space and want something portable, I'd look into a folder. Unfortunately most of them are more expensive, but I was able to find my Boardwalk for $200 on ebay. You can get it new on Amazon for about $250.

  22. I also got into NYU SCPS for their Ms in Global Affairs. I decided soon after my admission on March 15 that I wasn't going to attend SCPS. I hesitated, in part, due to the relatively subpar ratings of the school. In addition, the program did not fit my interests as well as American's Global Environmental Policy program. Furthermore, the $62k estimated COA and the extremely poor customer service from their financial aid and admissions offices did not help matters.
  23. I've been working full-time in my current position since March 2010, so I will be continuing in my current job until it is time to leave. I'm not exactly sure when my end date will be; it keeps moving up. Right now I'd say July 15, but depending on circumstances it may be earlier. I have enough in savings to cover moving costs and my first month of rent/security deposit, so hopefully I can move sooner than later.

Oh, please don't view me in esteem. I suppose I should have clarified - I meant that jury duty is even less enjoyable than scrutinizing my SOP. I've been sitting in this room with dozens of others staring at a wall, reading, and playing Angry Birds for 3 days.

Right... who actually wants to go to jury duty? lol
