  1. No, I haven't heard anything. A lot of placements seem to be moving on the board right now. If it helps, we should hear something by March 1st, based on the last few years' of posts.
  2. Wow! Congrats, Jaslet! I haven't heard anything yet. Do acceptances arrive as calls, letters, or emails? This is the first year I've applied for the PhD, so I don't know the mechanics.
  3. Hi, Jaslet. I considered applying to PhDs while in the MFA (grad 2013), but this is my first time. I only applied to FSU, Missouri, and Cincinnati. I don't have the answers you're looking for, though based on past threads, decisions should post in the next 34-46 days. Good luck to us both!
  4. We're GRE twins: identical scores. (I didn't take the subject test.) I have the same questions and even considered a retake, because I didn't study for it. I'd like to think the writing sample dictates funding. But even with an MFA from a top program and good publication credits, I don't know where I stand from an admission or funding perspective. We'll know soon... Wishing us both good luck in the process!

Hi all, I'm an MFA candidate finishing up my first year, considering a PhD in Rhetoric---and I'm forty-one. Is this ridiculous? On paper, I look good, other than being late to the game. I teach secondary school, but would prefer to teach college while working on my own research and creative projects. Although an MFA is a terminal degree, the market is flooded with them, and the PhD seems like my only course. Any thoughts or advice? Thank you.
