Ugh, the same thing happened to me! I called UNC to see what the deal was, and was told I was on the interest list of X professor, that I had been corresponding with a little some time ago. My advisor suggested I shoot him an email, so I did so on Monday, and no word :roll: I never know what to think! P.S. In response to the age question, I'm 22 (as of March 13! too bad I didnt get a nice acceptance letter for a present :cry: )!

OH oh ... wait ... One more thing. I also feel like NONE of my friends understand, and all they want to do is party and go to the bar... which I used to enjoy, but now it's like I feel like I don't want to go out, unless I have something to celebrate.... :cry:

I applied to UW, UNC Chapel Hill, and William & Mary (VIMS).. I'm feeling now that maybe I should have applied to more places, but I had some trouble getting recommendations in on time, some profs will really wait until the last minute!

Ugh I feel exactly the same way. I'm a senior at the moment, and I'm also doing a senior thesis, waiting it out makes me not want to address any other commitments I have. I froze on a calculus exam on Friday, all the while thinking "If i get my worst grade in college, in a class I only took (every day at 8 am no less) to get into a graduate school that didn't accept me, I will be an epic failure." I feel like I'm valuing all of my hard work these past 4 years on whether or not I'm admitted to a program. Half the time I expect rejection, and I just have no desire to have fun or think of anything else! I think I'm crazy, lol.

So, I feel like my current situation is going to cause me a nervous break down. My top choice school where I've been corresponding with a professor (who I had met through another colleague) for two years, is currently considering me and another student (whom she just met). The other student interviewed last week, and she said she would get back to me this week. I'm feeling like its pretty unfair at this point, and a friend of mine who is her student told me the other person's interview went well.. My hopes are shot. Anyway, the question I'd like to ask on this board is: I called UNC to pretty much receive a rejection for my status (because a recommendation letter was sent late), but they told me I'm on the 'interest list' of a certain professor there (for marine science) who I had corresponded with previously, and they'll be making another round of decisions this week. Isn't it a little late for a good decision at this point? also, it says they still accept apps up until June 15. How is that even possible? I'm so confused. Any advice would be great at this point. Hey Everyone, I'm new to the forum, and also freaking out. I currently applied to W&M school of marine science (VIMS), among a few others, however this is my top choice. Upon receiving my application, the admissions department sent mass emails to applicants saying they will try their best to notify AFTER April 15th. Has anyone else experienced this kind of thing, and still received an acceptance/rejection letter before April 15th? I know many people are already finding out from other schools and I'm going crazy over here. Thanks!!! Kat
