  1. Hello,

I am so sorry. You certainly won't believe me but I have just seen your email. I deeply deeply apologize. Have you finally applied to Gatech PhD? I ended up not going to Gatech just because I got admitted to Cornell University ORIE department and as Finance was one of my interests, I decided to go there.

I guess it is too late for my stats and I also hope to get admitted ...

  2. Hello, I am going to Cornell too. I applied for Campus housing and they have not replied yet  ........
  3. Hello, I have been admitted to the PhD program in Operations Research at Cornell and Gatech. I am interested in Optimization, Applied probability and Statistics and Financial Engineering. Which School do you think is better? Thanks
  4. I've got admission from Gatech PhD but with no financial aid. still waiting to hear from cornell.
  5. Got my rejection too. Expected!!! Why has it taken them so long to send rejections???
  6. I checked my Gatech application and it is still written "No decision has been made". No news from Cornell. So, I am still waiting.
  7. has anyone heard about ORIE at Cornell? Thanks
  8. does anyone hear from Gatech? Is it a good idea to ask whether or not you are on the top of a waitlist? Thanks!!
  9. Yes, I think perhaps the most important part of an application + GPA of course. But I wonder how you could get strong recommendation letters when you do not graduate from a top school (or Ivy)
  10. No, I applied to Gatech as well. I read on their website that they have extended deadlines for some PhD programs. What about Cornell??
  11. rejection from MIT. I was waiting for it but it really hurts. "This year the Operations Research Center received a large number ofapplications from outstanding candidates, and we are in the unfortunatesituation of having many more qualified applicants than we have spaces inour program. Therefore, even though your credentials are very strong, weregret that we are unable to offer you admission to the interdepartmentalgraduate degree program in Operations Research. Thank you for your interest in the Operations Research Center and for theinformation you provided in support of your application. We wish you greatsuccess in pursuing your graduate education. ...."
  12. I emailed cornell few days ago and the Graduate student services coordinator said: ' They are just beginning admissions and are still reviewing all of our hundreds of applications. There has been no decision as yet on your application.' I think I might be rejected  . Billy
  13. Hello, I would like to know up to which extend it hurts to be an international student. Thanks Billy
  14. when did your friend get the notice from cornell?? Thanks
  15. hello, yes, I applied to: MIT (Operations Research center) Harvard (department of economics). I think I must forget about Harvard and parhaps MIT as well. Who knows? lets wait for the decisions.
