  1. American / Methods. Does Vandy essentially require an interview for admission?
  2. ^ Not going to be worried about Stanford. I know I'll get in. Kidding. Didn't apply. Though I am wondering if I should be nervous when people start posting "interview". I haven't heard from Vandy, but a couple of people are being contacted for interviews. Bad sign?
  3. There is obviously a co-authored pub in our future.
  4. Amen. Need a time machine. Now.
  5. If it makes you feel any better, I'm a second timer as well First applications were in 2009 for admission F2010. Having the experience of applying before helps -- with everything but the anxiety. Still have 9 out, still on the slow slide toward insanity. Hope the rest of the letters come soon!
  6. It is official. E-mail coming from Barry Burden (DGS). Full info on funding + recruitment weekend coming later. Congrats, RWBG!
  7. I think Madison posted decisions on MyUW. "Your program has recommended you for admission. The Graduate School will be reviewing your file. Please refer to this page for updates."
  8. Thanks for the advice! I appreciate it.
  9. How detrimental is a poor undergraduate GPA for an applying? I attended a top-10 undergraduate institution, slacked off for a few years, and came out with a 3.3 GPA. My final year was better (~3.6) but still not stellar. GREs are solid (700+, 5.5). I'm currently in a top-50 program PhD and doing well (4.0). Quantitative classes have gone well, research record is good, working on a couple of co-authored pubs. Unfortunately the program just is not a great fit. Assuming I applied across a range of schools (a few in the top-10, top-25, top-40) that would fit my interests better, how detrimental would by UG GPA be? And should I take a MS from my current program, or should I 'transfer' without the degree? (I would be looking to transfer in the fall of my 2nd year, matriculate after I completed my 2nd year). Thanks in advance!
