  1. I haven't seen a post on this forum for a while. Hi Andrew I was also accepted to the leap program. What was your undergraduate major, and what drew you to the leap program? I need an apartment for the Spring 2012 semester only. Would you be interested in sharing an apartment for one semster only?
  2. Hey there USCTrojan: I also recently was accepted for the leap program for Fall 2011. I'm curious what are your thoughts on the program, what are your goals with the degree, what field of engineering would you like to pursue, what type of prospects do you feel will open to us when we obtain the degree? Congrats on the good news.
  3. Also, I'd like to ask the other Leap students on the board. What have you guys found with respect to the job market in engineering, and what sort of opportunities did the masters at BU make available?
  4. Hey Adamlau: You mentioned a friend of yours graduated BU with an electrical engineering degree and was doing very well for himself. I was wondering if you could elaborate, was he/she an undergrad/grad student, graduation date, working in industry or did he/she start their own business, did he/she find work through the career center? Thanks appreciate it, waiting to hear the good news from you for Fall 2011.
  5. Not in the summer time, but I'm going to start Fall 2011. I'm looking at taking differential equations and physics 101. What coursework are you currently enrolled in? Are you finding it fifficult to get up to speed with the math and/or engineering courses?
  6. Hey Adamlau, Dizzychemist any updates. Are we all meeting in Boston soon? I'm crossing my fingers for both of you.
  7. Just wondering if anyone has any updates. Also, how marketable do you guys think an engineering degree from BU will be in today's marketplace.
  8. I know what you mean about trying to keep sane. I was really worried I would be denied, checking my email and mailbox regularly hoping for something. At one point I was convinced I would be denied. I think what did it for me is that I stayed in touch with them for years, getting classes pre-approved and showing my commitment. I took time off work to concentrate on the GRE, and visited for open house right after applying. I also went for the best letter writers I could find, and really tried to shine on the personal statement. That's what I think did it, because there was nothing really special about my numbers (GPA, GRE). Not bad, but not great either. I started thinking about engineering 4-5 years ago during law school. I became really interested in science and math and I wasn't sure why I avoided it for so long. I really want to go into patent law, or engineering itself. I hope you get in as well Adamlau. It's apparent you appreciate the opportunity LEAP offers, and I'm sure they see your commitment as well.
  9. Good luck to everyone, if you don't mind me asking you guys what were your undegraduate majors and what made you guys decide on engineering. Also, what are your opinions on Boston University as a whole?
  10. Yes, I took the trip out. It was good being in Boston, it's an amazing city. When did you apply, have you heard anything yet?
  11. I applied a while ago, August 2010. When I didn't hear back for a while, I emailed somewhat incessantly. Did anyone on this board go to the LEAP open house. If you are interested in the program I suggest going, meet all the people involved.
  12. Anybody receive word yet from BU Leap? I recently received my offer of admission for Fall 2011. It was very exciting I've been working towards gaining admission to LEAP for a few years now.
