In the same boat. Wait-listed ("at or near the top of the list," which I'm told is extremely short) at my top choice, which is also, for better or worse, a top-tier program. What's especially lousy about it is that, out of ten applications, this is as far as I've gotten after hearing from half of them, with the remaining half looking anything but promising. -
As the curtains begin to draw shut on any hopes I might have had to be accepted into a Ph.D. program (2nd round of applications), I'm wondering if anyone's heard anything from the GPL at Duke. Hard to tell from the forum.
