  1. Hi guys - just to update, I heard yesterday via postal mail and was rejected (I already posted this to Results). Good luck to everyone!
  2. I still haven't heard anything, and I'm surprised because it looks like last year's rejections went out earlier - looks like everything was pushed back a bit this year?
  3. By the way, when did you hear from this prof about the decision (the past week, etc.)? Thanks.
  4. I am sorry to hear that - it looks like you have been accepted to many great places though, which is fantastic - good luck making the hard decision!
  5. Hello everyone - has anyone heard in any way from Harvard's Social Policy and Government program (accept/reject/interview, etc.)? I believe I saw on the results page that one person received an acceptance, however I haven't heard much more said about this program. If they have notified everyone they're going to take, I wonder how long they'll wait before sending out the rest of the notifications (I'd rather rip off the band aid quickly instead of slowly!). Thanks, and good luck to everyone!
  6. I apologize for my ignorance, but does this discussion include Harvard Social Policy/Government program? I saw on the results page that one person said they were accepted to this, however I have not heard anything else (about interviews, etc.). Good luck to those of you still waiting . . .
  7. Hello - has anyone heard from Harvard yet about a Zuckerman Fellowship? I have a feeling that we won't hear for a few more weeks, but I'm just checking . . .
  8. I got rejected to Harvard Ed.D. program - I posted more info on the Harvard topic about this. Best of luck to everyone still waiting.
  9. Hello, I just wanted to update. I was rejected today from the Ed.D. program (I received an email telling me to login to the application website). Best of luck to those of you waiting to hear.

  11. I was a lawyer for 4 years at a big law firm, now I do non-profit work.
  12. I also applied to the Ed Policy concentration. I was also asked a few weeks ago to submit the essay for the Masters program because I indicated I would like to be considered for that in the event I am not accepted into the Ed.D. program. I believe someone else on this board posted the same thing. I'm not sure what to make of this - it could be something they're asking of all applicants who did not submit the masters essay separately with the Ed.D. app, or it could have been an early indication that I was no longer in consideration for the Ed.D. - who knows? Guess we'll all have to wait it out - I'll definitely post if I hear anything either way.
  13. You have a great background, and programs love people with real world experience - I think it'll make up for any problem you think you might have with your GPA. Just like I would say to any applicant to PhD programs, applying to a bunch of places, and making connections at the places you care about (it sounds like you really like WashU, which is a great school) is key. You have a few years to go, which is a nice amount of time to cultivate those relationships. I think you'll have a great chance, especially when you're planning so far in advance.
  14. Hi TeeDub - I definitely didn't mean to imply you were one of the bad apples you were talking about, I just wanted to see if anyone else had heard because I realized my heart sunk when I heard they made all the calls last Thurs., and then I realized that there was just one person (your friend) who said they heard. She certainly might have, it sounds like she's well-qualified for the program - I'm just curious if anyone else heard. It's interesting that people here generally don't post Ed.D. acceptances. It looks like one was posted today, though, in the Results Search - maybe they have started calling a bunch of people? Good luck to everyone - I know it's frustrating to wait!
  15. TeeDub, thanks for all of the helpful info you have posted about hgse and other programs - I hope everything goes well in the admission process for you and that you have lots of choices. I don't mean to doubt your friend's word (the one who said HGSE called him/her last Thursday with an acceptance to the Ed.D. program), I am just wondering if there is anyone else out there on this board who directly heard from HGSE about Ed.D. decisions? I ask because it looks like this is only word we have so far on this, and a bunch of us (myself included) are then hanging our hats on one bit of information, and I'd like to corroborate things before I feel one way or another. Also, I spoke tonight with a few people who are currently at HGSE, and there's nothing going around yet (at least among these people, some of whom are applying to the Ed.D. program this year and have an interest in this sort of thing) that admissions decisions for the Ed.D. program are out yet. In fact, the people I spoke with said the admissions committee just began looking at everything 2-3 weeks ago, and that now is awfully quick for people to start hearing. I'm not saying that means that TeeDub's friend isn't telling the truth, I'm just saying I don't think I'm ready yet to throw in the towel until I hear from others as well. Thanks, guys!
