  1. Directly protesting a admission decision is something I have never heard about. What you could do is request information about why you were rejected. What were you applications weak points? Etc ... Some schools will give you this information, some won't. I also might try contacting them again after national signing deadline, April 15. There will probably be a few open spots in the department from people who were expected to matriculate, but didn't.
  2. Where you go depends a lot on what your goals are. If you wanted to go into academia(need a PhD) or research than I think going to a big name school is important. If that is not your goal then from what I have heard, it does not matter quite as much where you go. Just go to a place that has a strong degree program, but not necessarily tops. ** I am also an undergrad, so this is more regurgitated information than personal experience.

  4. I guess I'm the only engineer in here Finishing my BS in Aero in may 2012. Hope to get accepted in Cornell's Theoretical and Applied Mechanics program.
