You know what would be funny? Once we get the emails and our results, we should edit all our posts so that future applicants think we got our results much, much later (like, early May). I know, that would be cruel but amusing if we could pull it off

1) Anxiously procrastinating here instead of patching neurons. (I just finished a mouse surgery). 2) Went out dancing and drinking Saturday night. Then had brunch with friends and went to lab Sunday. 3) Champagne and grad school extravagance until my miserliness catches back up with my elation.

Man, I originally wanted to write that when the results comes out doesn't matter because we will get them eventually and they won't change. But then I began getting anxious about the NSF again and decided that I will go for a drink tonight.

I received my package a few days ago, but at home so my parents will need to ship me the actual hard copy (with the acceptance form that you need to complete). Apparently they still use carbon paper!

Oh that's really awesome. I'll probably be living in Munich which is apparently a preeeeetty expensive city. Do they have any stipulation on what kind of housing you can go for and get the subsidy? (ie: I'm sure they won't subsidize a swanky penthouse if I could've gone for something less extravagant)

The Fulbright can as well, in Germany (according to their website). And I got the DAAD as well! Yay!

They sent out the only round of invites at the end of Dec. The interview weekend was last week I believe. Sorry man. I got rejected too :/

I have the same question for the Germany Fulbright - it says "Knowledge of German commensurate with the nature of the proposed project", which isn't much for a science project. So do I need to fill out both evals? Thanks for the help guys!

Hey guys! I'm applying for a full grant for Germany but wasn't sure how good my German had to be to work in a life sciences/biology lab (possibly at the Max Planck Institute). It's basically something I'd need to pick up, but it seems like the research is conducted mostly in English. Does anyone have any information or knowledge on this? Thanks for the help!
