  1. Hi! I was recently admitted into the MSW program at UGA. I was wondering if you had any insights on the MSW program after being there a year. Would you recommend?

  2. I just got a call this morning letting me know that I have been awarded an assistantship through the graduate school! I guess I need to start planning a cross country move. ellyk, would it be ok if I message you some questions about Athens? You are the only person that I know that lives there so I would really appreciate it. Also, I'm sending you and Danielle my facebook profile so we can be friends!
  3. Didn't get an assistantship either. I guess I'm on the waitlist for an out-of-state tuition waiver but even if I get that I'm not sure it would be worth it to make the move. Looks like I'll probably be staying at the U of Utah.
  4. Seriously!
  5. Ellyk, just got an e-mail from Dr. Vonk saying that they send everyone a letter whether or not they are given an assistantship so we should hear something either way.
  6. I think you're right ellyk, I haven't completed my FAFSA yet either. I was under the impression that for graduate school loans are based on financial needs. I heard that grants aren't available and neither are subsidized loans so basically you are able to take out $20,000 in unsubsidized loans. Anyone know if this is correct? Danielle, is this how yours looked? Here's to another day of waiting. I want to move to Georgia!!
  7. Well I'm glad that I'm not the only who hasn't heard. I'm tempted to e-mail Dr. Vonk again if I haven't heard by tomorrow. Is that too obnoxious? I've emailed her twice in the past. Danielle, by financial aid do you mean FASFA? If so I think it's totally separate and wouldn't mean that you aren't getting an assistantship. Thanks for the response ladies, it's nice to know I'm not the only one still waiting. UGHHH!!!
  8. I need to vent a little. Has anyone heard back on assistantships yet besides Whitty? I am so sick of feeling glued to my inbox! I can't focus on anything. Seems like the date for hearing back just keeps getting pushed out over and over. Ellyk or Danielle, any news?
  9. Still waiting to hear about an assistantship. I'm just wondering if anybody knows, do they contact everyone whether or not you received an assistantship, or do they only contact those who do? I'm going crazy!
  10. I just got an e-mail from Dr. Vonk saying that all of the letters are in the process of going out and that they hope to be completed by early next week. Good luck to those of you still waiting (me included!).
  11. For those of you who are still waiting, I just e-mailed Dr. Vonk again (I've been so obnoxious) to ask if all assistanship decisions have been announced and if not, will we hear either way. I'll let you guys know if she e-mails me back.
  12. Congrats whitty! Did you get a call or an email? Have you decided where you're going? Does anyone know if they notify you either way?
  13. Have either of you tried to contact Dr. Vonk to ask when decisions will be made? I did a few weeks ago and haven't dared to again because I've already been a bit of a pest. Here is her info Email: bvonk@uga.edu Phone: (678) 985-6793; (706) 542-5471. She usually responds within a day. If either of you decide to contact her, keep me updated on what she says. I bet she has a pretty good idea by now of when we should hear back.
  14. Haven't heard anything. I e-mailed them a few weeks ago and they said they would know by early April. I'm so anxious to find out! I won't be able to pull off out of state tuition so this is really my last chance for going out of state. Hopefully we hear back within the next week.
  15. Do you know when UNC makes decisions on funding? It kind of sucks being advanced standing because you have to start in the summer without knowing if you'll even get any. I am hoping that fellowship and assistantship decisions are made earlier than that. If only I could get someone from UNC to answer that question. I've been trying for 3 weeks. They are by far the most difficult school to work with as far as trying to get a hold of anyone.
