Does anyone know about the University of Toronto?! I've heard that some Canadian schools are very slow in sending out their admission decisions... I don't see any entries for this one in the results survey so that I can make a guess as to when they're going to respond.

I don't know exactly how many internationals they accept each year. You may try asking their secretary, Ashlee Edwards. If you have not received anything so far, maybe you have been wait-listed.

Once I had emailed Susan Brighton, I didn't receive a response. Then I e-mailed Lynn Marie Guthrie and received an immediate reponse. I suggest you to send your inquiries to Lynn in the case you need info.

I see two people received an interview from University of Michigan Medicinal Chemistry program. I am wondering if all the candidates should be interviewed and if so, what happens to the internationals? I called their secretary several weeks ago and she told me I will hear back by mid-March!

It's a nice opportunity for you natives that you can visit your future schools before deciding! I am not counting on MIT at all, so my top choice is the University of Toronto and after that British Columbia. I am going to do bio-organic.

It is logical that the investment should be put on students who will enter to the US workforce after graduation. Still, the universities should be aware that there are differences between students coming from different countries. For example, every year several students go abroad for grad studies from our school, but I do not know any of them (in the group of my friends and acquaintances) who does not want to apply for a work permit and then, a green card upon completion of his/her degree!! I guess this is the case at least for the majority of applicants from the middle east.

Congratulations!!! You have remarkable research experience! I have also applied to MIT but I have made a silly mistake: I have not put any professors names in my SOP as I was thinking MIT assigns advisors after a student arrives and does some rotations in the first semester! ) But Pentelute and Movassaghi are my favorites. I wish I had their names in my application though I had contacted Movassaghi several months ago. [My stats: GPA 18.5/20 (1st place at my school), GRE(V/Q/A.W) 157/166/4.0, Sub 920, TA experience, no publications, strong LORs]

How does my profile look for PhD Admissions in Chemistry
Amirhossein B replied to process chemist's topic in Chemistry Forum
my undergrad project began September 2011 and will last until around May 2012. Since there have been no publications yet, the only thing that can reflect this component of my resume is the LOR from the professor who I am working with! -
