  1. Does anyone know about the University of Toronto?! I've heard that some Canadian schools are very slow in sending out their admission decisions... I don't see any entries for this one in the results survey so that I can make a guess as to when they're going to respond.
  2. I don't know exactly how many internationals they accept each year. You may try asking their secretary, Ashlee Edwards. If you have not received anything so far, maybe you have been wait-listed.
  3. I have been accepted into Georgia Tech after an interview over the phone on March 1. I am an international and am more into Biological Chemistry.
  4. Just got admitted to Georgia Tech. I had been interviewed yesterday.
  5. Hi all! about UC Irvine: The secretary told me this today: We are hoping to make a decision on all applications within one week. Good luck to everyone who are still waiting for their decisions.
  6. Someone has newly been accepted into UBC. Would he/she mind sharing his/her stats?
  7. Once I had emailed Susan Brighton, I didn't receive a response. Then I e-mailed Lynn Marie Guthrie and received an immediate reponse. I suggest you to send your inquiries to Lynn in the case you need info.

  11. Ha ha... I've been always thinking that I would first hear from my American choices... but my first acceptance came from Canada!
  12. I see two people received an interview from University of Michigan Medicinal Chemistry program. I am wondering if all the candidates should be interviewed and if so, what happens to the internationals? I called their secretary several weeks ago and she told me I will hear back by mid-March!
  13. It's a nice opportunity for you natives that you can visit your future schools before deciding! I am not counting on MIT at all, so my top choice is the University of Toronto and after that British Columbia. I am going to do bio-organic.
  14. Congrats JonotanVII!!! I wish you success in your future studies. Is MIT the top choice on your list?!
  15. It is logical that the investment should be put on students who will enter to the US workforce after graduation. Still, the universities should be aware that there are differences between students coming from different countries. For example, every year several students go abroad for grad studies from our school, but I do not know any of them (in the group of my friends and acquaintances) who does not want to apply for a work permit and then, a green card upon completion of his/her degree!! I guess this is the case at least for the majority of applicants from the middle east.
  16. About MIT: does anyone know if any internatioanls have been accepted so far? I wonder how many internationals does MIT Chemistry usually take each year?
  17. Congratulations!!! You have remarkable research experience! I have also applied to MIT but I have made a silly mistake: I have not put any professors names in my SOP as I was thinking MIT assigns advisors after a student arrives and does some rotations in the first semester! ) But Pentelute and Movassaghi are my favorites. I wish I had their names in my application though I had contacted Movassaghi several months ago. [My stats: GPA 18.5/20 (1st place at my school), GRE(V/Q/A.W) 157/166/4.0, Sub 920, TA experience, no publications, strong LORs]
