I usually buy my books, I like to know that they are mine. Also, deadlines from the library or ILL stress me out!

I plan on applying next year, I just couldn't handle any more than my classes and apps this year!

Sorry for my long absence, I have been ill again and in grading hell. Miami was amazing and I love my advisor and the faculty I'll be working with. We almost have all of my fields nailed down and they are really excited about my research. The program is in transition but in a good way. I turned in my paperwork when I was there so I am moving to the beach and trading tornados for hurricanes! I am getting back to grading, I won't be sad in the fall when I only have to grade 30-35 papers at a time!

I haven't seen any cats! But I love, love, love the history department! My advisor is amazing!

I'm on my way to Miami today for a visit! I am so excited to visit my new academic home!

This probably would be helpful. I know I had a steep learning curve during my MA and now I've been out of practice for a year!

I am there with Pitt and OSU! Just cut me loose already! And Oseirus you are killing me! I have bronchitis and laughing makes me cough!

This is even funnier to me because I actually met my husband in South Beach!

I haven't posted much in the last few days... I am in a grading haze... But next year I'll be doing it for someone else! It looks like I am moving to Miami this summer, I am not wasting much energy on the prospect of waiting lists for my last few schools. I have a funded offer in a great program for me. I feel so lucky that I am going to continue my training with my mentor's mentor. I am having fun researching Miami and I am going down for a visit at the end of the month. Of course I have moments of overwhelming stress when I think about the move and beginning the program, but I am happy to deal with that pressure. BTW - I love the idea of starting a support thread next year. It would be great to communicate with everyone who is going through the same experience after sharing this process together.

Congrats SToF! What great news! I just got rejected from Clark University and my OSU app still says "in review." But it looks like I am most likely moving to the beach!

My OSU app stills says "In Review." GRRRRRRRRRR! Just cut me lose at this point!

Happy Wednesday and Leap Year! It's the last day of February, I wish these schools would just finish making their decisions... Good luck today everyone, congrats to those new acceptances and my condolences for the declines.

I was born in the 70s and went to high school in the 90s. 90s music rocks though I do have a soft spot for disco and 80s new wave...

Trust me, once you get past 30 it's not that hard to forget how old you are! I am 37 and I feel old now too...

I was also rejected from Penn. No surprise and it didn't hurt a bit. I'm just glad to be able to cross off the schools I know I am getting rejected from. Five down, five to go!
