  1. My GPA is pretty avg., as well as GRE. Already have 2 LOR writers, going to contact a 3rd soon. Finished my general SOP today, I feel it's very passionate and all I need is to let people proofread it. Applying to about 20 PhD programs, a lot are umbrella programs but will eventually try to get in the immunology track. 20 schools is a lot, I know, but I really don't want to enter the job market in this economy. Good luck, everyone.
  2. AE has a good rep. There are better programs, of course, but people in research know the school and NY is a great place to do research. I'm applying there this fall as well, but stating I'm interested in going for immunology. What are you hoping to study there? I don't know the avg. scores, and would love to know them, but from what I've read on another site, most people who have had interviews there have had solid research experience with undergrad GPAs above 3.3 and great GRE scores (above 1300). They probably don't list the numbers of the incoming class because they look at each applicant differently based on curriculum, experience, interest, etc. Good luck!
  3. I think your record of research experience will really benefit you and make up for any low GPA. Also your publications will help you immensely. Also your GRE is pretty good, maybe a bit low on verbal but from what I hear most schools don't take the score into account that much unless you totally bomb it or get a perfect score. Just make sure you can still use that test score because I think there is an expiration on each test you take. I hate to detract attention from your question, so maybe shoot me a message if you read this, but how did you start research at Joslin? I'm really interested in doing research post undergraduate there if I don't get accepted at the PhD programs I'm applyin to this fall. I really want to work with type 1 diabetes in my future, so if you could let me know how you got your foot in the door, I would really appreciate it.
