  1. Arrow Pointe is pretty far away from campus. You're looking at a 30 minute drive to campus anywhere north of I-10. However, you wouldn't have a problem with undergrads there. In my opinion, Savannah Sound would be a better choice. Closer to campus, really nice area, wouldn't have to deal with undergrads, close to Thomasville Rd. which is where Midtown is located (tons of restaurants, shops and bars). Sorry for the late response!
  2. In my opinion, the best apartments in Tallahassee for graduate students are Polos on Park, Evergreens at Mahan and Victoria Grand. Victoria Grand is very expensive (especially if you are living alone) but if you have a roommate, it's doable. I recommend these because they are 10-15 minutes away from campus MAX and in a nice area. These complexes are filled with all different types of people; grad students, young professionals, families. Occasionally you'll stumble upon a few undergrads but for the most part you don't have to worry about that. I honestly can't think of any other area I'd live in. I've been in Tallahassee for 4 years and I'm staying for at least another 2
  3. Hey SLP1129, Have you visited the programs you're considering? I've kind of been going crazy this week telling all of my friends they NEED to go visit the schools. A week ago I was 99% sure I was going to a school...I even drove around looking for apartments. Then I attended their open house and it didn't feel right at all! I am SO GLAD I visited instead of packing up and moving halfway around the country just to find out their program was a complete disappointment. So if you can, go visit!!!!
  4. Finally made a decision and it feels so good I decided to stay at the university I attend now, which is still so surprising because I really thought I was moving away. After visiting a few programs I realized I couldn't give up the opportunity to stay here. Funny how things work out.
  5. I don't know anything about Pitt, but I have to say that you're definitely making the right decision by going to the open house. There really is no way to tell what a school is like until you visit. I was sure I was going to a certain school until I went to their open house. I feel like you will definitely know how you feel about the school, even if you're only there for a few hours. Good luck! I know it's a great school. I hope you like it!
  6. Thanks so much. I am headed to Memphis this weekend and I'll definitely check it out!
  7. I'm going to an open house on Friday and the e-mail said- Dress: Please feel free to dress comfortably for this event. What do you think I should wear? This is the first open house I'm going to so I have no idea what to expect. THANKS!!!
  8. Thank you for all of the information. My program is actually located downtown. I've heard about Mud Island but I don't know anything about it. What is that area like/is it safe?
  9. Is anyone familiar with the program at Memphis? Any information would be great!
  10. If USF got over 450 applications, then you're right about them getting more than FSU. I was told FSU had around 350 this year.
  11. I received an e-mail right after I saw the decision on the website.
  12. It was on the regular application page. Under "action" I clicked "status" and it came up!
  13. Not sure where my post went but UW-Seattle decisions are up. Just received an e-mail and if you log into your application, the decision is there also. Unfortunately I didn't get in, but good luck to all of you!
  14. Anyone know when we're supposed to hear from Auburn? Not my top choice but I'd still like to know! I wouldn't be surprised if it's pretty late considering they were so behind when it came to undergrad acceptance/scholarships/everything else.
