  1. I would be in Strasbourg (Universite de Strasbourg) studying French alcohol policy with a sociology professor at the university...great city, btw, though Paris is also, of course, amazing.
  2. ah, me too! where would you go, what would you be doing, etc.?
  3. I really dont understand why it takes them so long...they had the results at the beginning of January...it seems strange that they need 3 weeks to process and send out e-mail notifications
  4. does that mean just for german applicants or all applicants? I'm assuming all??
  5. I think the only European country that does phone interviews is the UK...there might be one or two others, but I think it's the exception and not the norm
  6. I didn't apply for an ETA to France, but I did apply for a research grant to France! I'm freaking out right now since France is so damn competitive...What did you propose to do in your application (not familiar with the ETA app so not sure what you write about in there)? Also, where did you ask to be placed?? I would be going to Strasbourg...
  7. The worst part about this last month of waiting is that the decisions have already been made...I believe the Fulbright people are just processing them now. I hope we get notification before January 31st.
  8. No need to be so chippy...anyways, I'm sure you are correct OliviaKate84. The number of grants available for 2012-2013 were posted months ago and are probably based on a budget already passed last year, otherwise they would not have increased or decreased the number in certain countries. For instance, the number of full grants in France rose from 20 to 23, (likely) based on the available budget and not a projected budget.
  9. this wait is robbing me of my sanity...two more monnnnntttthhhhhhsssss
  10. Maybe to help "pass the time" until January we should share what our proposed projects are?
  11. I know that feeling! I applied for a study grant in Strasbourg, France to examine the evolution of French alcohol policy...it's cruel that we have to wait so long to hear!
  12. did anyone else here apply for a study grant to france?
  13. Thanks. I called the Fulbright people today and they said that it is fine to use headers, so long as you check that the formating is OK. With that in mind, go crazy and add four extra lines! A tip they gave me for avoiding formating errors with the upload is to first save your word document as a PDF and THEN upload your PDF essay into the embark application--this way the text will be less likely to shift.
  14. does anyone know if using headers in one's proposal/personal statement document is a major problem??? I know it says not to cause it might not upload, but I have no problem previewing my documents when they have headers. anybody with experience/insight into this?? any help is much appreciated, thanks!
  15. Did anyone from this forum who received a grant or was an alternate use HEADERS in their proposal/personal statement documents? I know that the instructions say not to use them, but when I upload my documents with headers and then preview them there are no glitches with the documents. anyone? im in a really tight spot with my proposal if headers are a major problem. any help would be appreciated, thanks!
