Fit isn't as big of a deal for poli sci compared to the hard sciences. There are a few constructivists here at Chicago working with Mearsheimer for example. As long as there generally someone who does what you like you are fine .
I dont think most departments like people only working on a narrow sub topic of ideas too.
Yeah they admit 40 and expect to get around 20. Although I find it hard to believe 20 people are saying no to Princeton but more than likely Stanford, Harvard, Yale, and Princeton share mostly similar admits.
Within the big 10, OSU and Minnesota offer waaay more than that with a comparable cost of living. And it is not like Ohio's financial situation is much better.
I'm really interested in studying attacks on religious monuments and sites in civil wars (maybe conventional wars too) whether by insurgent groups or the government itself.
UC Berkeley would be the perfect school since Hasner does exactly this type of intersection between IR and religion.
Those are the exact three I am waiting for as well. I was expecting to hear from Berkeley given that SD and UCLA were 2-3 weeks ago. Blah. and this Yale thing is weird. People have claimed interviews on the results page but not here.
