Now I'M the whiney one! Haha. Seriously though - I have had a somewhat similar experience to yours (just to a lesser degree). Even if nothing works out for me I can take solace that there are people who I can relate to who are being successful. Good luck to you.

Haha, kazoo and sculptor, I appreciate both of your posts and mine definitely came off harsher than I intended. I know this is tough for everyone, no matter what position they are in right now. I suppose I'm a little frustrated and that came through in my post.

No offense, but there is an awful lot of whining coming from people with interviews and acceptances in their pockets. Sure, I'm bitter, but some people in here could use some perspective.

How do you like the post-bac? A few of us are contemplating it.

So it looks like I am going to seriously start thinking about the SAIC post-bac. I had a very bad undergrad experience and there are certain things that will hinder me ever getting into a good program. The post-bac will be a good opportunity to fix my mistakes and get some stronger recommendations. I suppose beggars can't be choosers!

Good to hear. I have a tendency to let things go of their own accord and that is sometimes interpreted as aloofness (which is really annoying, btw) so I'm paranoid that I'm supposed to be all up in admissions' collective grills to prove I care.

How many of you have been contacting your programs regularly? I just let it go to the wind. Also, noticing a conspicuous lack of kazoo lately, spirits plummeting!

Got my letter from SAIC today. They're offering me a post-bacc and, despite some misgivings about the usefulness of the program, I am going to consider it. I have been out of school for a while and having the opportunity to paint full time, establish some new connections and correct some of my undergrad weaknesses (poor gpa) might be a good idea. Well the website says that a "decision letter" is sent out 6-8 weeks after the deadline and that would seem to imply that positive or negative, you'll get a response, and that they might still be sending them out.

through the "saic.askadmissions.net" website. How did you receive confirmation for your submissions? The last email I got from them thanked me for starting my application. When I go to the website that handles the online application it says they received my application and recommendations. When I go to the askadmissions site it says they received my portfolio (through slideroom), recommendations and statement, but not my transcript or application. They seem terribly disorganized. I feel like I totally happened upon the askadmissions site by accident.

SAIC is making me very nervous. I just noticed that I never got a confirmation for applying, but the status of my application through their website says I did... also noticing that mySAIC is saying they never got my transcript? They have too many websites with conflicting information.

I think Iowa is the one school I really regret not applying to.
