the year before didn't happen until the 29th. i think its totally random and probably depends on the amount of applications received. all i know is that i am obsessively checking my spam folder just in case.
this particular scholarship was geared towards the arts, but i know that the center offers grants for lgbt students working in other fields as well. there is another organization called the point foundation that gives a lot of money. also, i found this random but totally awesome list of scholarships on the university of illinois springfield's website. its a word doc so the easiest way to find it is by going to uis.edu and typing in lgbt scholarships into the search bar.
yes, but i don't know any straight people making work about gays.
i applied for a fine arts study grant to germany. my proposal involves a photographic and sculptural body of work dealing with understanding how berlin's tumultuous past has affected contemporary queers' modes of representation and cultural status. i also proposed to establish a site specific, alternative exhibition space to promote work dealing with similar issues from local artists. berlin has a rich history with both subjects. i have affiliation at hgb leipzig and the schwules museum. i used the same proposal for all applications. we'll see how that goes.
i also applied for a deustcher akademischer austausch dienst (daad), and a private scholarship through the center for lesbian and gay studies. all of them provide the same amount of funding. fingers crossed for at least one, right?
there was no negativity intended, my dearest. i am sorry that you misread e-inflection. it was merely a current events rib. take the new york down a notch.
these funding cuts will mostly affect grants to countries that are not able to match the state department's support. should have picked germany instead of italy!
using the term obamacare makes you sound like a complete moron. pretty sure britain didn't call the nhs churchill-care or something equally less poetic.
i am applying to germany, berlin specifically, for a study grant in photography. i haven't seen any other posts here relating to the fine arts at all. anyone out there? to germany in particular? i established affiliation at hgb leipzig and the schwules museum. would love to hear some experience from others.
i mailed in my portfolio and finished application today. now i must wait. the worst part. daumen drücken!
