  1. Here is the link for d3gator and any other AmeriCorps folks. Lots of great options. http://www.americorps.gov/for_individuals/benefits/ed_award_match.asp
  2. According to the letter, this year they had 15 declines and 5 deferrals. Normally it is about 25 declines and 12 deferrals. Nobody was accepted off the wait list, unfortunately
  3. I also got the email from WWS. Even though it didn't work out this year (78% yield fwiw), I'm more than happy to take my offer and go to Michigan this fall.
  4. I also just committed to the Ford School. I really liked both Duke and UMich, but at the end of the day, Ford's strength in domestic econ policy, course offerings, and better financial package made the difference.
  5. Wow, I seem to be in almost the exact same situation. It is going to come down to these two programs for me as well. Like you, I was also at Duke last Friday and will be in Ann Arbor this weekend. The quant training at Michigan is very appealing, but Duke is certainly no slouch in that department either. I'm really looking forward to seeing Michigan, and even though I got a slightly better funding package from UMich, Duke made a very strong case last Friday.
  6. I'm also giving the Ford School very serious consideration. Its strength in domestic policy aligns very well with what I'm interested in and what I want to get out of an MPP. I also like the quant emphasis since even though I have some quant background (econ minor), I know I need to develop it further to land the type of jobs in DC that I'm interested in (GAO, CBO, etc). I'm going to the open house in a couple weeks and really looking forward to it. I've never really been to Michigan before, except for a few layovers at DTW. Oh, and they also gave me a very healthy financial package.
  7. BaristaGirl, I got my official packet via snail mail on Thursday. It contained a flyer with some info about the open house but not a specific itinerary. By the way, I received my scholarship notification via email on March 2.
  8. I just received my financial aid notification via email this afternoon.
  9. I'm sort of in the same boat. I'm going to Duke on 3/27 and Ford on 4/3-4/4, but I just recently got a great offer from Humphrey so I'm flying from Detroit to Minneapolis for a quick visit after the Ford open house. That's going to be a long weekend.
  10. Thanks ebee. I wouldn't get too worried. I'm sure that they just started rolling out financial offers on Friday with more to come this week. Hang in there.
  11. I received my funding notice via email on Friday. Needless to say, I'm really happy with it.
  12. This program looks very compelling. I haven't had a chance to speak with anyone who has gone through it. Unfortunately, I don't think that I'll be able to attend the open house in Pittsburgh (same day as Ford School). I might be able to make it to DC sometime, since I only live about 5 hours away (in W. Virginia).
  13. That's what I assumed. Thanks for the quick response, traverler06.
  14. My letter said 3/15 too. I've tried to email and call their office to see if it is actually 4/15, but I can't reach them this afternoon. Any thoughts?
  15. I'm planning on it. Too bad that it's the same weekend as GPPI and SPEA.
