  1. Don't know about stats, but I called and was told that invites trickle out up to the end of Feb......
  2. Thanks guys! My current lab will pay for me to take a grad class. That would offset my low undergrad GPA. Planning for next year!
  3. I suspect. UCSD Bio is probably full and Scripps is selective. Maybe SDSU....
  4. UCSD BMS rejection by email. I'll see you guys next year. I think I'm done
  5. I tried calling and it went to voicemail. I hope there are more coming. Its killing me....
  6. I've called UCSD BMS 3 times today and no answer. Anyone hear anything? Last year there was a wave day on Jan. 17 which has not happened yet this year. Also the rejections came early this year and I haven't gotten one, so I am still hopeful!
  7. UCSD BMS needs to send that wave! Last year it was Jan. 17.
  8. Last week they told me one weekend was full and the other was still sending "some" so its a low probability in my mind....
  9. I just called The Scripps Research Institute (CA). She said that they are still evaluating and sending invites (up to the end of Feb). She said that they aim for an even split between biology and chemistry students (its one large program) and that they try to cluster the biology ones into one of the two weekends, but that that is flexible as well. Its a relief that I'm not competing with chemistry students......
  10. Yeah UCSD BMS will likely send invites this week (last year this week on tues). I haven't been rejected so I am hopeful. It will be my first interview.
  11. I broke down and called UCSD Biology (not BMS) and was told that the first interview weekend was full but that they are still sending some invites for the second weekend! Still hopeful!
  12. yay for hope! As long as there hasn't been that big wave of invites I'll keep hoping!
  13. what did you put for areas of interest? I put molecular pathology and immunology.....not sure if that has any connection to anything......
  14. Same here low GPA (3.3) and my GRE is a spread V 90% Q 50% A 73% but I have 8 years experience in 3 labs and 2 mid-author publications. I feel if they read my app I have a good shot. Some of those rejected had better GPA and GRE. I'm trying to give myself false hope, but now there are 2 days with rejection emails..........ahhhhhhhh
  15. **cautiously optimistic since I haven't been rejected yet for UCSD BMS.......their pattern seems to be a big day of invites in mid-January, so there is hope........I just want one interview! let the furious refreshing continue!
  16. Very unhealthy! Also unproductive.......glad this week is a lot of computer/data crunching for me......
  17. Really bad deja-vu from last year with the wave of UCSF Neuro rejects. This year I applied to biology and biomedical programs since they take more students each year and thus I am more competitive. Keep trying if you don't make it! Keep breathing!
  18. I agree that next week will likely be a deluge! I just want one interview! I was shut out last year and this year I've improved a number of things, so hopefully......if not I'll keep trying!
  19. Not sure which is worse: a slow trickle of invites, or a great deluge? Maybe Friday will be a big day?
  20. Someone heard from Scripps, but not sure what campus (CA or FL). Also NO STATS!!! Why aren't people posting stats? It helps the rest of us immensly!!!
  21. Yay Scripps! I'm the CA campus, but I will certainly update with any news!
  22. http://www.petersons.com/graduate-schools/the-scripps-institute-kellogg-school-of-science-and-technology-program-in-biology-and-biophysical-sciences-000_10044554.aspx The Scripps Research Inst stats.... looking for stats is a good way to pass this time
  23. http://www.ucop.edu/ucophome/uwnews/stat/ I found some statistics on enrollment at UC schools. Only total of admits no Gpa or gre stats.
  24. How did UCSD BMS notify you? Congrats!
