Hey Winteriscoming (cool username by the way),
Did you change your uw to a rejection because of the person saying the invites are done being sent, or actually get a letter?

I broke down and called UCSD Biology (not BMS) and was told that the first interview weekend was full but that they are still sending some invites for the second weekend! Still hopeful!

Yeah UCSD BMS will likely send invites this week (last year this week on tues). I haven't been rejected so I am hopeful. It will be my first interview.

Not sure which is worse: a slow trickle of invites, or a great deluge? Maybe Friday will be a big day?

Its not necessary to do a post-doc. You can go straight to industry as a scientist. In the one industry lab I worked that is how it went, and also from conversations with the people there.
