  1. Does anyone have any suggestions regarding preparation for going back to school - particular skills to freshen or practice? Readings to do?
  2. You are all incredibly kind to post a response! My discipline is IR and methods, but I am interested specifically in working with Will Moore. Of course, I'll know more after I visit, but you've quieted my concerns about being able to fine a placement after graduating. I am wait listed at UNC and haven't heard back from the dual PhD at Notre Dame in poli sci and peace studies, but I'm hearing that I should be grateful for FSU - it's a solid choice and not a risk. Thanks to all of you! Good luck with the rest of this difficult process!
  3. Hi, everyone! I need advice - I have been rejected from all of the schools I've heard from except for Florida State, which offered me a very generous package. I am nervous about committing to a lower ranked school and wondering if I should pursue a master's or try to get more research experience and then reapply? Or is this a bird in the hand kind of situation? I have strong grades, letters, and GRE scores, but went to a little liberal arts and have very little formal research experience. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!
  4. I called unc and asked. She said that all offers had been made and they would finalize the waitlist by early next week.
  5. From Florida State, I received 20k stipend, 17k teaching assistant-ship, and $3500 summer stipend.
  6. UNC has sent out all of the offers they will make. If you haven't heard, you're either waitlisted or rejected.
  7. Verbal Estimate: 690-790 Actual Score: 165 (96th percentile) Quant Estimate: 720-800 Actual Score: 157 (77th percentile) Was not expecting to get the low end of both my ranges. I'm applying for PhD programs in political science. Should I take it again?
