  1. I think it's normal to second-guess your decision. One piece of advice I've been trying hard to follow--one you make up your mind, don't look back! So far it's serving me well. I turned down generous funding offers to go to a better-ranked school that seemed perfect in every way . . . except for the funding. But I try not to think about that too much and trust that I made the right choice.
  2. I hear that UW has already passed out quite a few fellowships and RA positions, but that there are still other funding opportunities available. I was admitted, but declined the offer this week (going to UCLA). I never did hear about funding, even though my advisor had told me she had applied for several fellowships for me.

    UCLA

Hello all, I will be attending UCLA this fall, and yes, housing does seem on the pricier side. I am expecting to pay around $1,000 a month for a modest apartment on one of the bus lines that goes to campus.
  4. This has been on my mind, too. I was planning to pick out a special card for each of them and write a letter thanking them for their support over the years.
  5. I'm considering UW as well, still waiting to hear back about the funding. I expect to hear any day now, and then it will just be a matter of deciding!
  6. I also started out at a community college, and then transferred to a state school. I was still able to graduate summa cum laude, develop close relationships with faculty, and was awarded a Fulbright straight out of undergrad. Applying to doctoral programs this past year, I was accepted to most of the programs I applied to.
  7. I just heard word via email--personal email from faculty advisor and letter of acceptance to ELPS Ph.D. program.
  8. HI mochalatte! I applied to the Ph.D. program. Just found out I'm on the Stanford wait list. Now I'm just waiting on Berkeley and ASU.
  9. On the wait list for Stanford, APA. Just got an email late this afternoon.
  10. I'm Ed. Policy, too. I've heard from UCLA, UW, UT Austin, and CU Boulder (accepted to those ones). Waiting on Stanford, Berkeley, and ASU (guessing a few rejections are on the way).
  11. Hi everyone! I just signed up today and am so glad to have found you all! I applied to 7 programs and have heard back from 4 so far. My area is Ed Policy. UCLA--accepted to Urban Schooling, letter received Feb. 21 University of Colorado at Boulder: accepted via email Feb. 25 University of Washington: got a phone call a couple of weeks ago, official email came today UT Austin: accepted March 6 (found out via application status on website) Still waiting on: Stanford Berkeley ASU
  12. I also applied to ASU, to the Ed. Leadership and Policy Studies Ph.D. program, and haven't heard anything yet. I know they were accepting application up until March 1, though.
  13. Anyone hear from Stanford who applied to the Administration and Policy Analysis Ph.D. program? I haven't heard a thing, email or otherwise. It's driving me crazy!
  14. Yes, I also applied to UT Austin's EPP program and found out I was accepted on Friday. The grad coordinator just updated the website Friday morning, so you should be able to see your status via UT Direct with your UTEID and password. I heard that 12-15 students had been accepted and that a letter would be coming in the mail in a couple of weeks.
