  1. Anyone have any clues about NYU or WashU ? I seriously hope they would be out by now, at least NYU. WashU seems to have released some acceptances, but no change in status is agonizing
  2. Its midnight in this part of the world and I am transfixed on the screen, refreshing the result page. This is nuts !
  3. NYU had been posting its results by this week every year for last two years. Wonder whats cooking !
  4. Is Wisconsin over ? I am not in the US now and have not had any emails, nor the change in application status.
  5. A quick question, did you inquire them via email or did they just sent that to you ? I am also not in US and not sure about the results. Thanks.
  6. Here we go ! Braced up ! Wisconsin is out it seems, by post. Does anyone know if they reveal the results via phone if we are outside of the US and takes several days (or weeks even ) to hear by postal service ? Cheers
  7. As per last year, it should have been out by now. Other departments in Madison this year seem to be releasing it via email (not post). This waiting is torturous.
  8. Yes it looks like so but not sure if the one that is listed on the results is (the only one) via phone ... Has anyone heard from Wisconsin ?
  9. Thank you for your comments and I think I'll go with the majority and give it a try; doing my best to make the SOP better. I was just wondering if it there is anyone who have gotten into a program despite low AW.
  10. I had the GRE test taken about 9 days ago. When I inquired over the phone, I found that my AWA score has been abysmally low 3.0, with v630 and Q740. My school ( for Masters degree) ranks quite high although I have not received my transcript yet. I wanted to apply for PhD, pol sci; in schools that rank 20-50, all US. Now I am quite disheartened. I would appreciate your advice whether to wait for another year or give it a try (resitting the GRE, not applicable this time). Does anyone share such an experience where you have low AW score (as mine) but still managed to get into good schools ? Thank you
  11. Hi all, Thanks for the suggestions. I wrote to a professor after reading the thread and I got a positive response. He wrote that my subject of research (Masters) is similar to what many professors in the university are working on. For admission info go to website.... and "... if you have any specific questions let me know." My query : What next ? Is it too early to ask anything (for application for PhD fall 2011) or may be send a PhD research proposal or just a thank you note ? My main interest is to keep the conversation going (if that can influence on admission somehow) or is this sufficient for me to mention during the application process that I have talked with prof X ? Thank you for your help and suggestions, in advance.
  12. Thanks bg16. LSE rocks as ever. There is one more question, regarding Letter of recommendation. The seminar tutors are more associate prof. and fellows. Does that matter or will my chances get better by requesting it with some renowned ones but who are less acquainted with me. Thank you.
  13. 2010international, Thanks for the guidance. Good to know that above 70 is a rare case. Sadly, one thing that I found frustrating at LSE is not being able to access one's scores until very last. Leaves us quite clueless. Anyway, thanks for the input.
  14. Hi, I am completing MSc comparative politics at LSE and would like to apply PhD in political science in US schools, top 25. If anyone could share what is the threshold grade in UK-terms that is required to get in these top notch programs, I'd be grateful. Considering that I score 700 -ish in GRE. Would getting merit 60 + suffice ? Thanks.
  15. But guys do you not think it is just the first wave of acceptances ! I know buddy of mine who was accepted ... he's sent me the mail ... it says college visit on 4th April ... ! ... Damn !
  16. Fellas Help, Is anyone of you expecting to hear from SSP ? Hope this is not the final list that they have accepted... we've only got 4 posts in gradcafe search result so far.. I have not been emailed so far, is that rejection ? Would be glad if you could share any info you have on this... thanx !
  17. Fellas, I see a post about acceptance in Conflict resolution, (REsult search Georgetown). Anyone heard about SSP yet ? This seems to be taking longer than usual...
  18. Admission page in SSP site says recommendation by SSP to grad office is out and email of those who are sent for final review by grad off, will be informed, within next 2 weeks. Anyone informed yet ? :?
  19. I called them today !(couldn't resist !) All they said was it'll be out in next couple of days. Speculating on the mails sent last year... some were sent even on saturdays ... therefore keep checking mails is the only option ! See you there USAF !
  20. Guys ! I have heard that SSP faculty is on leave until 16th March .... Anyone's got any info on acceptance .. yet ? Or any info as a matter of fact ... !
  21. Has anyone heard anything from SSP yet ? I heard that they're on leave until 16th March. Any info guys ? I have had pretty good response from admin director, she even knows my name, lately ! Is that a good sign ? Waiting is torturous ! :x
