  1. Congrats to all MSFSers. Hope to meet you in late August..
  2. They might be considering them overqualified for SIS? those things can happen.
  3. I just checked my email and SAIS decisions were released at 17:01 EST last year.. That may mean you still have 1,5 hour to go..
  4. I think it may depend on whether you're a us citizen or an international. And I would argue that internationals are more likely to get off the waitlist..
  5. I have been admitted off the waitlist, such a good news!!
  6. I think the focuses of two schools are quite different. Elliott's IDS program is designed to train future's development practitioners who will mostly work in mid level development contractors. The curriculum and substance of the classes are therefore not as demanding as those of SAIS. However, as said before, within two years of graduation, the effect of the name of your degree will be marginal.
  7. Rejecting an offer does not automatically open a place for the waitlisteds. Schools normally admit about two fold of their actual class size. So, before admitting someone from the waitlist, nearly half of the admits should decline their offer.
  8. I think SIPA would defer your admission uncoditionally. MSFS seems a bit tougher though, but a new job offer should work. In any case, you're gonna have to wait a couple of weeks to hear their final decision.
  9. I think SAIS is way too conservative than SIPA is, if that is a matter of concern to you.
  10. Any ideas with regard to what kind of new information to be accompanied with the waitlist request form can actually work?
  11. It's really interesting to see some people here who have discovered only after being admitted to SAIS that it is indeed a quant-heavy program, or others who are wondering about what to do with an MA degree after graduation...
  12. I could not imagine something worse than rejection but, being asked to defer admission for one year by my director due to heavy work load hurted far more than a possible rejection. And i highly doubt that they would grant me deferral in this case. Things have just been much harder now.
  13. I called last monday and they said "we will send decisions around April 1". So I guess 3 weeks of time seems reasonable.
  14. I think most, if not all, of the applicants including me, would say that MSFS and SAIS is far better programs than Elliott. This is mainly due to the class size. About 100 students eventually enroll in MSFS ~160 in SAIS, both DC and Bologna campuses -if I'm not mistaken. Elliott, on the other hand, has 10 MA programs and two special masters program, probably totalling to around 370 enrollments annually. That makes Elliott 3 to 4 times less competitive than SAIS or MSFS. On the other hand, numerous reports from future employers indicate that all three programs are generally regarded equal and what counts is what you make of them. Elliott has a tremendous career services, and the professional skills courses seems to be unmatched by any other school. But the rankings...
  15. I am sooooo rejected -with a nice mail basically saying "it's not me, it's you"..
