  1. You probably don't have to worry too much on that count. If you get one, you'll know by email, and they'll give you a reasonable amount of time to respond. Generally my understanding of this situation is that until you expressly give it up, it's yours once they've awarded it (of course, you lose it if you let your admission offer lapse). If you are so lucky as to get the Clarendon, then you need to attach the notice to your college Financial Guarantee form and send that to your college. Also be sure to confirm the offer from your department. Any other requirements to secure the funding will be clarified in the Clarendon letter (again, if you're lucky enough to get one, which I have not as yet). Any positive responses yet?
  2. You might be right. I would not be shocked if we didn't see a final result on that page for a few days yet. That said, the other departments have finished their selections, so tomorrow just might be the day... At this point I'll just be relieved to know either way, I think.
  3. Tell me about it! What's really getting me is that "FROM April 2nd..." Because that implies that it could be later than that. Argh!
  4. Yup, that's the page I've been refreshing obsessively. Not that it'll help to do so until April 2nd...I'm sure that they won't finish early.
  5. bddurham, you are definitely being considered. Technically, everyone who was offered a place by a department is in the running. Looks like about 30 per division will be offered; Math/Physical Sciences/Life Sciences is finished with their Clarendon offers, and they gave out 30. lsh37421, fingers crossed for both of us...we should know in a week or so!
  6. I was offered a place for a DPhil within the Social Sciences division at Oxford U., and now I'm super-edgy waiting to find out the Clarendon results...has anyone gotten Clarendon funding at Oxford yet? If so, from which division? Barring that, is there anyone else in the same boat who wants to commiserate?
  7. Hmm. Fingers_toes_x, thanks for the input - I'm fairly sure that a lot of the funding decisions happen later for this round of applications, but you got me thinking that at the departmental level they might be sorting out scholarship decisions this early. To all the rest who have applied but not yet heard back, good luck! I realized that the term just started today, so probably the holdup had something to do with admin staff being out of their offices on holiday. I cracked and emailed the secretary, and at least for Oxford in Education, they're going to send out notifications this week...lureynol and twopi, perhaps the same will be true for math and history!
  8. I applied to a DPhil program at Oxford, for which the decision date is supposed to be Jan. 13th. I was interviewed right before Christmas break (via Skype). I'm a little on edge now, because I've heard of a bunch of people who heard back almost immediately (for better or worse) after their interviews, and for me it's been almost a month. It's quite possible that the holiday interfered...maybe staff were out of the office for a while, I don't know. Is there anyone else who has applied to a graduate program in the UK for an early deadline, or better yet specifically Oxford? Anyone heard back yet?
  9. Ditto @habanero. I'm supposed to hear from one of them in the next two days, and it's killing me. Additional nightmare: Getting accepted to my top choice and then not getting funding (which would mean not going).
