For a telephonic/ Skype interview with a POI what sort of questions are asked in our field? And in general what shoul one expect?

Unofficial rejection from USF.

On the result board I saw one rejection from a program of interest 2 weeks back and an acceptance a week back and yet I haven't heard a thing yet. I have been thinking what this could mean and I guess now I am on the verge of going mad.

Does having a professor recommend you to the AdCom increase your chance of acceptance?

Did anyone hear from Stonybrook?

My status stil shows No decision. I don't know what to make of it. If they are done sending invites then why don't they change the status already. All this is really frustrating, tiring, scary etc!

Aarrrrrgghh!!!! The silence is driving me CRAZY.

I had emailed UMiami they said applications are still being reviewed.

Ya even I had done the same, but few of them actually replied back. This time period is the worst ever!!

Well I guess time alone will tell. Really bummed and discouraged after getting the first reject.

Oh well none of the profs have emailed me showing interest so I assume that it will be a rejection.

Do you know if Rutgers is done sending all interview invites?

One of my friends received a mail stating that his academic qualifications are suitable for entry into the PhD program but admission has been deferred as they have not located an advisor for him and that his application is being circulated amongst faculty members. What are the chances of acceptance in this case? He has also emailed potential Advisors but has not got any response.

I have applied to UMD, Stonybrook, RSMAS,USF and Rutgers. Have you heard from USF for PhD or Masters because I saw few acceptances for Masters on the results page. I am International student does that have anything to do with not having heard from anyone yet?
