  1. I know it's rough, guys, especially with less than two weeks left. My mindset is cyclical, up and down and not as balanced as what I would normally want for myself and all the others right now! Keeping my fingers crossed and going to contact whichever schools are left... Applied: 10 Accepted: 0 Rejected: 5 Waitlisted: 2 Pending: do the math... jk. 3.
  2. Brunett88 and Sweetnighter, Too funny, and same here! I did a "happy song" when I found out I was waitlisted, and now ... I check e-mail obsessively. I also had a cruel bout with getting a financial aid letter mentioning my files were incomplete, and that as soon as I receive my student ID and pin then I'll be able to check through the school's website about details of my funding. Next day, a rejection letter from the same school. Their psychology department and financial aid department must not be on same page, although I am considering inquiring. Good luck to everyone, and hopefully a substantial amount of us will get off the waitlist --- or go up on the butcher block for Round 2 of the slaughterhouse *cough cough* for grad school (don't know if I mean the application process, or my bank account if I do this again lol!)
  3. 4. "Oh, you got accepted to [unfunded master's at a name brand school]? WOW CONGRATULATIONS!!!!!!!" vs. "Oh, you got accepted to [a top-ranked doctoral program with full funding for five years but much less local name recognition]? That's nice!" Lmaooooo. Indeed. Additionally, I hate people telling me I'll get in somewhere. Their confidence in me makes me think of how much they are underestimating the calibre of students who have more experience than me at this point in life, and how 2.5-5% acceptance rates for my program do NOT equal make getting accepted "for sure, to one of those places." The assurance and nonchalance makes me want to revert back to the gem of immaturity, "I didn't get in so now what, huh!"
