Hey all, Anything new on your end? Been out of action for a week and came back to see some folks already got letters in the mail ... nothing new on my end.

I actually don't find this strange at all anymore. I applied to two programs a year ago (Dec 2011) and on Nov 2011 got an email from 1 program at 8 pm on a Saturday with an attached letter of admission. The other emailed me on a Friday before classes started on the following Monday to offer me admission (into a program on the other side of the country!) Both programs never send me any communications, and when asked why it took so long I found out that it almost always meant the majority of the adcom was for my application, but only one or two were against (usually higher ranking folks) and thus they kept me on file until those people were no longer on the committee! Really really strange politics....anyway it's been my luck haha

Thanks L2theP, I also heard that acceptances and rejections alike go out via regular mail as opposed to email. Makes the waiting time even longer!

That sounds pretty reasonable actually looking at last years survey data (if its any measure!) If its true we should be in the home stretch. Does anyone know if they evaluate ur candidacy based on ur proposed policy track or if its program in general?

So I know there's proabably a tousand and one people waiting on this forum to hear back from Universities, so I wanted to share something that will hopefully ease the stress and put a temporary smile on your face! I could envision applicants around the country stalking the mailmen and mailwomen waiting for those letters! lol Good luck all!
