I think that your struggles don't decide on your value though... sometimes committees try to match students to their own research, so even if you're great, you might not find a place because of e.g. very original plans or ideas. so don't feel depressed, just pursue what you want to pursue and at the end your true value will show no matter where you studied
It probaby won't be very helpful, but I've heard that LA (besidse being unappealing) is quite an expensive city, while the stipends are more or less at the same level as everywhere else. Also, from my point of view, they are not so active in Europe. But feel free to disregard all I wrote, since those are only my personal opinions
In the results survey I saw some people rejected after the campus visit, so I'm afraid it's the second option. I will just try my best no matter what exactly it is. May I ask you when are you going there?
The Skype meeting was on 26th and the invitation followed the day after. all the process is so stressful, I feel like it will be the longest three months of my life.
well, this is what I'm asking about, I have an invitation to Princeton. but as I said, it may not be the same for domestic (if I may say so) students... and I'm just clueless about my own status anyway.
so does anybody know what does it mean if after Skype interview the DGS invites me to the campus visit? is it going to be another turn of interviews? I somehow thought it was either Skype or face-to-face... and don't worry, I'm an international student, so they might have wanted to schedule me earlier.
and, of course, good luck everyone!
