  1. I have received some more killer essays! Thank you for the positive reception :-). I read this article in the NYT and wanted to share it with people who have a love for traveling (I believe everyone on this thread...): http://travel.nytimes.com/2012/03/11/travel/thin-places-where-we-are-jolted-out-of-old-ways-of-seeing-the-world.html. My thin places: Mt. Kilimanjaro and Mercury's (Stone Town, Zanzibar). Side note: I'm obsessed with gradcafe and I have a while until grad school, aahhh.
  2. I decided to share my essays with other members on this thread. It has been great thus far and I have read some really amazing personal statements and project proposals! Also, reading them has stopped me from rereading my own (I was really bad about this after receiving the recommendation email...). Anywho, I would genuinely love to read some more essays. If you're interested just shoot me a PM and I will send you mine as well :-).
  3. Woooooo! Congratulations!!! :-) I am excited about and look forward to getting my e-mail.
  4. Okay, so forget about my previous decrease in anxiety! My heart started pounding after I got an email from my FPA. Part of the exchange is below: Subject: Re: Fulbright 2012 Results On Wed, Mar 7, 2012 at 7:13 PM, wrote: Dear Recommended Applicants, We were informed only today that instead of receiving the results in the mail, notices will be sent via email with a copy to this office. Fingers crossed! Like you, X, Y, and I are also looking forward to receiving the results. Please accept our very best wishes. Me: Ahhhhhhhh!! All countries? Even ETA applicants??! On Wed, Mar 7, 2012 at 7:16 PM, wrote: YES, YES, YES! Me: So, then what about Belgium? This applicant got a small white envelope on Monday... Or did they they just decide to switch over to this. I apologize for all of the questions! On Wed, Mar 7, 2012 at 7:26 PM, wrote: I don’t know. Maybe after that they decided to notify via email!! Who knows? Take some deep breaths. I’m signing off as I should have left office already! Always. Z ----(END) What the heeeeeeel??! Oh well, now I don't have to worry about asking my mum repeatedly for my mail, lol. I'm fine now. Again, more important things to worry about at the moment. Good luck to all! :-)
  5. Wow! I was without internet for the last 3 days and to read the last few pages of this thread was awesome - It is good to read things all at once (definitely better than refreshing every 15min, lol). Major congratulations T Pain!! I figured someone might hear back by now. I am so happy for you!! Specifically, I was in the mountains (I'm from NYC, but work abroad) and I realized that I couldn't let the final decision consume my thoughts especially when I have important work to focus on. Moreover, it is much better for me to enjoy and be extremely happy about the fact that I am a finalist in the first place; I applied last year and was not recommended, so I try to celebrate my first-round success 24/7! This is one way I decrease my anxiety :-)
  6. You can put in your tax info from 2010. Then, once you complete filing your taxes from 2011, you edit and submit again in the form of a correction form (I think it's called). I have submitted corrections before and I did not have any issues. Also, I'm not sure if you could even complete the FAFSA in January because I believe everyone gets there W2s by 31 Jan. The deadlines for financial aid forms vary by school, so I would aim to get it in a month to a month and a half before your school's deadline and before they run out of money. Hope this helps! :-)
  7. It's Friday and pushing 1630, what are they waiting for? Lol. Good luck!! :-)
  8. Thank you very much! It is nice to have them all in one document. ...And yes, I share your sentiment! According to the last year's spreadsheet, applicants for Indonesia should find out at the end of this month/early April!! :-0
  9. I spoke to my FPA again today and she also mentioned that IIE will send you an email if they do not receive your transcript. She said that they will not reject your application because they did not receive your transcript. I hope this can assuage some anxiety :-)
  10. @badgerslp: My FPA literally said "Leave them alone!" and that if they do not receive your transcript, the FPAs will be contacted. In regards to making sure materials have been received, I ordered a transcript, tracked, and confirmed its delivery. Hope this helps! :-)
  11. Lurker here, lol. ETA Indonesia Recommended! :-)
