  1. Does anyone know what the funding is like for Georgia Tech's I/O PhD program or Baruch's I/O PhD program? I checked their websites and the SIOP website, but I'm not finding anything.
  2. Hi everyone. I am just wondering how you decided/are deciding where to apply to graduate school (what factors you are considering/considered, what is/was most important to you). Also, what information are you looking for when you research graduate programs and what questions do you usually have?
  3. I will be declining offers to Central Michigan's PhD program and Albany SUNY's PhD program this weekend. Hope it helps someone!
  4. I recently turned down an acceptance at UMSL, so maybe you will get pulled off of the wait list. Or I guess my spot could have gone to James. Keep your fingers crossed!
  5. Yes you will be very competative. Just make sure you apply to a range of programs. Include some top tier and some middle tier.
  6. Did someone post in the results section that they were waitlisted at TAMU? It just says "Texas A" but I'm assuming it should be A&M.
  7. What usually happens at these recruitment weekends/visitation days/open houses? I have been invited to two so far and have no idea what to expect. One of the programs says there will be a "formal overview" of the program followed by a "poster session" and "individual meeting sessions." Then lunch and dinner are provided with opportunities to interact with graduate students and faculty in a less formal setting. What exactly does this mean?
  8. Thanks for the info goodluck. I have my fingers crossed. Erik, I think you have a very good chance of getting into one of the four. Have you emailed and asked what your position on the waitlist is? Sometimes they will tell you how good your chances are. Depending on the program, if you are in the top 3-5 spots, you probably have an excellent chance. If you look at the program details on the SIOP website, it will tell you how many applications they receive vs. how many offers they make and how many students actually end up attending. So for example, UMSL usually receives 75 applications, makes 12 offers, and 5 students actually enroll. Theoretically, that means that if you were one of the top seven spots on the waitlist, you got in. Hope this helps some. Try to stay calm!
  9. I would say most often it's email and occassionally phone call. I think snail mail is usually a bad sign.
  10. I hope not, they were tied with Wright State as my first choice. I was looking forward to having my pick. I am going to call them in the morning and ask so I will let you know.
  11. Who got the interview at Houston? Are they doing phone interviews or in-person? Do you know if they have made all of their offers already?
  12. Accepted to UMSL today by phone. They said they will be accepting 3 students out of about 60 - 65 applicants.
  13. Accepted to Wright State!!!!!!!! It was my first choice! SOOOO EXCITED!!!
  14. Whoever posted in the results thread about the interview with Wright State on 1/27, would you mind telling me who your POI is?
  15. Yeah I just emailed the Admissions Committee Chair (it's Stephen Colarelli for the Ph.D. program, not sure if it's the same for the masters program) and asked him. He was very nice by the way.
  16. I applied to: Wright State (had a phone interview with my POI and am awaiting his final decision) Central Michigan ("not far down" on the waiting list) University of Houston Texas A&M Florida International Central Florida Missouri St. Louis St. Louis University Clemson Albany SUNY North Carolina State Northern Illinois Cornell ILR
