Erewhonful, The survey took about 10-15 minutes and basically evaluated whether or not as a student of Columbia you would be interested in a new development of an online track to completing your master's degree. It had a bunch of questions that you had to fill out or rank. It was sent about a week or so ago. You probably got one and may have just missed it

Nevermind I must have read it wrong because I thought they said they had got in and then also received an e-mail survey, oops! I received the e-mail survey as well, hbu? (Wouldn't that be great if it was an indicator of admission?? One can dream.)

I saw on the results survey that somebody got into Columbia's Masters in Journalism? Congrats! I also got the e-mail survey the other day but I haven't received any decision yet--though I submitted my application right on the deadline of Dec. 15th. To the admitted applicant, do you mind if I ask what your stats were?

Same here guys! I didn't apply to Medill but I'm still considering applying to their later deadline. I did get a call from a professor at Syracuse though to let me know I've been selected as one of 12 semifinalists for their Minority Fellowship program which provides full tuition remission and a competitive salary. The only thing though is that I haven't been offered admission yet? I posted in another forum but maybe you guys could chime in, do you think this is an indicator for an admission into their school? I'm waiting on Columbia and NYU as well, I applied right on their deadlines though so I don't expect to hear back until mid-March or early April. Go us!

Hi all, New here to the forum! So yesterday evening I received a phone call from a professor at Newhouse to let me know that I've been selected as one of 12 semifinalists for their Minority Fellowship program which provides full tuition, competitive salary, healthcare, moving expenses, conference expenses and books/materials expenses. So excited!!! Seriously even just to be looked at is an honor--even though I know I probably won't get it. But my question is that we're still a few weeks out from admissions decisions. I didn't want to ask the professor, who was so sweet, if this was an unofficial acceptance into the school? I wanted to ask you all though what your thoughts were, do you think it is? She kept telling me how impressed they were with my achievements and so on. I would love it if it was some indicator of an acceptance to Syracuse, because even when I don't get the Fellowship, at least I know I've been accepted to at least one school! Let me know your thoughts...
