The problem is, I haven't heard from any of the universities that I applied but Princeton and Brown. Only they told me I was rejected. The others just didn't contact me at all, I have been seeing people getting accepted or waitlisted from here. I just wish that they told me that I was rejected for sure. The wait is killing me.

Oh god no, not another rejection. I can't take this right now.

Aww thanks MarxianSociologist. I guess NYU is added to the list of the universities that I haven't heard anything from, which means I'm purely rejected.

How do you know you're wait listed, just from the fact you haven't heard anything? Sorry, I know that it might sound like a really really stupid question, but..

What is a short list?

Hey guys, just wanted to make something clear. There're couple of schools (I guess 4 so far) that I've not heard of, haven't got a rejection mail; but people were either interviewed or got accepted to those universities. What do you think that means? Should I be totally depressed about being rejected and not being even told, or should I be a little bit hopeful about the possibility of a wait list? What do you think?

Official notices have already been sent? Of course I didn't receive anything. Does this mean Columbia rejected me? I hate not knowing for sure!

Hey guys, Do any of you know what time did Cornell start to send out interviews, acceptances or whatever last year? I'm kinda nervous and I can't wait to hear from them, even if it's a rejection.

Exactly my feelings. I applied to a total of 15 schools (3 Europes, 2 Canada, 10 U.S.). So far I just have two rejections: Princeton and Brown. And Brown was one of the universities which would be perfect for my topic. I expect rejections from Harvard and Columbia as well, apparently my stats are not that goog enough. So is my statement of purpose and all. I'm an international student with a 3.42 gpa for undergraduate (double major, but we don't keep different gpa's), 3.92 gpa for masters. For GRE, V: 154, Q: 163, A: 4. I guess these are not bright enough. Maybe some other time I should take the GRE again and work on my statement of purpose a little more.

Have we heard anything from Harvard yet? I just wanna know for sure even if I was rejected. This wait is killing me!

Hey guys, do you have any idea if Rutgets sends rejection mails? I was not interviewed but I haven't heard anything about a rejection either. What do you think I should get from this?

I'm an international but I haven't received a phone call yet. Does this mean I'm rejected? Will they send me an e-mail at least if I am so? Just got rejected by Brown as well. Le sigh.
