Congrats that's outstanding!!

Thanks everybody. My scholastic/academic career has been a long rocky road full of much failure. My high school GPA was 1.4. It's amazing to be at this point I am with options.

I can claim the UVA acceptance. Phone call about two hours ago.

I second this, which is why I allowed myself so many dice rolls.

For the past two days in a row I've received a call with a withheld number at around 5-6pm Pacific Time. I never get undisclosed calls. And they never leave a message. What time are your calls? Maybe we can figure out which school this was or at least speculate. edited to say: #2 is not always correct. I heard from last year's applicants that some schools, for whatever reason, call but don't leave messages.

Personally, I considered Duke Lit a rejection once this past Saturday came and went. It was probably my top choice, too.

My top schools where I want to apply to are Oxford and the Sorbonne. But my safety's Harvard.

No I'm sort of serious. A few of my schools asked for permission to send my materials to other schools, and I'm imagining that that will happen, gifting me with a few extra "courtesy" rejections.

Sorry to hear about the rejection. I'm fairly convinced I am going to strike out completely this season.

I don't think there's anything inherently wrong with those feelings. I would just try to avoid normalizing them or pretending they are natural and that anybody who doesn't feel that way is somehow lying, though I am sure it is the case with at least some people. If people want to feel envious or resentful or angry, that's fine, but don't tell me that's how everybody really feels, or should feel.

I am competitive with myself and I am constantly pushing and assessing my own limits and strengths. I also try to operate collectively as much as possible because that is where I draw my good qualities from. I have no interest in being "better than other people" but I know many people who do feel that way, and that's cool, especially if it drives them to whatever they define as success. More power to...

The world may be dog eat dog, but that doesn't mean I have to buy into it, and I don't. Even if I am #26 out of 25, that is no reason for me to be angry or envious. I am happy that #25 worked hard and got in, and I see it as an opportunity to try to improve myself and my work.

I 100% feel good and happy for anonymous admits or admits of any kind. Why in the world would I feel angry?
