  1. Of the places I have been accepted, the only place that has resolved funding (so far as I know) is Utah. They offered me 13k for TA. I don't know about my other schools yet, but it seems like the Utah one is on par with the other public schools according to this thread?
  2. That is odd. I would think that they would have sent out all of their acceptances by now since their visit days are the end of this week right? Who knows? Either way I would like some closure on those schools! You were accepted to Washington, right Lovenhaight?
  3. I still haven't heard from University of Washington or Northeastern. I am thinking they will be rejections though. I am also waiting on a final decision for Washington State, as I am waitlisted there. I know Washington and Northeastern have already sent out their acceptances, so I don't understand why they just don't send out rejections too! So far - Rejected: California Riverside, Oregon. Accepted: Kentucky, Texas A&M, University of Utah. Waiting: Washington, Washington State, and Northeastern
  4. I see someone else also posted a wait listing on the results page. Anybody want to claim it? What did the email you received say?
  5. I posted the Kentucky acceptance. Thank you!
  6. Keep your head up amigo! At least you have 4 programs to choose from already!!
  7. Who's the Washington State acceptance? Anyone wanna claim it?
  8. What is taking these schools sooo long? I am getting very anxious here, and beginning to wonder if there is any shot that I have been accepted to any of the programs I applied to since I haven't heard anything at all... This grad school stuff is sure agonizing!
  9. Hmmm, well I guess I will get in on this thread too since I may have an impending relationship problem coming my way as well. I got accepted to Texas A&M (though still waiting on 6 other schools for decisions), which is quite a ways away from Idaho. My girlfriend and I have been dating for a little over 5 years now (started in high school and have stayed together through college), though she is a year younger than me. She will be staying here in Idaho to finish her degree, but I feel like it will be really difficult to be that far apart for so long (rather I don't think, I know it would be). I'm not quite sure what to do in this situation. We are very very close and having been together 5 years would be looking at marriage if we stayed close. I don't really know what to do at this point in our relationship. Hard to choose between school/academia and my girlfriend of more than 5 years (not that is necessarily has to be a choose one or the other situation).
  10. I also received a missed call from someone in Seattle last week, but when I called back it just kept ringing and no answer. I also have not gotten a call back either! I am starting to think it may just have been like a political advertisement, since I live in Idaho. That wouldn't really make much sense though, I don't know what it was but it seemed weird that no voicemail was left. Do the schools normally leave a voicemail? Does anybody know? It would ease my wonder about the missed call... lol
  11. That's quite a bit more than me!! lol Good luck at all of them! Hope you receive the opposite email from UCR that I did.
  12. I didn't shoot too high, but I applied to U of Washington, Washington State, Oregon, U of Utah, Kentucky, Texas A&M, and Northeastern. Where did you apply?
  13. I was looking at the UCR Political Economy and Global Social Change specialization, but my interests in that would be looking at neoliberalism and politics/economics. I briefly talked with Professor Chase Dunn, but I didn't really have extended conversation or anything. It's too bad about the UCR rejection, but it wasn't my top school and I am now "patiently" waiting for the other 7 schools I applied to for a decision.
  14. Yes, that was my rejection... lol
