a reject is a reject whatever,friend. I am so depressed after the result. After their requisition for furnishing missing documents,i sure thought i would get in :-( my web status is not updated.

friends,call the graduate office and ask for admission status. They'll ask your last name. They ll immediately say whether you are rejected or not. Mostly if you didn't get any mail,you're rejected. The results are out

the graduate student association is not related with the admission process they said. They just co ordinate visit days and student and they donot know any info regarding it

Ya the delay in application is draining my hope. I watch MIT EECS ADMIT 2013 Community and it seems like atleast all are admitted. One person posts as " Hey! I was just sent info about which professors I will be meeting with next Friday and was wondering how MIT students go about choosing an advisor. Will these meetings determine who my advisor is, or will I decide that next fall, regardless of who I am meeting with Friday?" just 5 hours ago,it is posted. I wonder whether Graduate office is open on sunday and even then,why are they not saying our admission status :-(

i was not saying they're not needed. Some part of verbal is not required and the high school math,i feel,everybody wilbe equipped with. But your insight is really good

i too appreciate MIT for not using GRE scores. It's just high school maths and verbal that is not much use in research.

nope.i didn't get any. I don't think we will get reply from POI at the final stage of admission decisions. What is happening maybe evaluating 'selected' students and funding. People get a single mail from POI are considered admitted mostly. Unless some sorta interview. Well we are left in blind.let us just wait for website notification :-)

and if we didn't get any kind of communication from any faculty till now( friday night),that means we have less probability to get admitted. I don't think they would make an offer like that and post in website without having a personal touch. I too was replied the same answer when i asked is it rejects for people who didn't get any sorta admit mail. She said she can't say anything about that and we have to check app time to time. Well that drained my hope then. The facebook MIT EECS ADMITS page do look like many are being admitted and they're sure of it. It would be foolish to assume we have more than fewer seats tangling for the remaining students. We would get a PhD on Mit eecs admissions than getting into MIt eecs for phd if we keep analyzing like this. Maybe that is what they want :-P

you are desperate because you want people to withdraw their application and think it might get you in.

the person responsible,said on telephone a certain date and it is like changing for last two weeks. The march is a safe date. That doesn't mean the results are supposed to be then. What are we looking for? A guide book for dummies?
