true. They were shut down for 2 days. Except that they were on schedule. They talk different on every single day. I never thought they decide things in ad - hoc and unplanned way.

don?t know what's happening with MIT EECS department. The lady on phone says we're not sure and you may expect results early next week :-( :-( what the heck is happening

out of 5 areas,i guess area I would be only 20 or 30. i still can't believe that we would get official admit from MIT without a POI have a small discussion with us. Yet,wait for ten hours to unknot the suspense. You are Phd or ms + phd?

i had also mailed my enquiry two days back and got my reply today. It just reads 'we are posting the decisions in very near future. Check your online application time to time'. All form of enquiry says pretty much the same thing. :-)

Called MIT EECS office just now. the lady on the phone said me that the faculty members haven't given their official admit list. The results will be posted in website by tomorrow afternoon,she said. the wait is over,friends

anyway,there seems to be a visit day on 2nd march,which is about 10 days. Results are already released for admits or this friday is a sure time for results then. And going through that facebook group,it do seem most of them had admits. Atleast some 50 for 165 strong EECS program

103 CS admits and 60 EE admits,says one graduate student association member in that admits facebook group

peeps check out this group http://m.facebook.com/groups/350179911762383?refid=48 the group is started by graduation student association and some queries are revealing. The GSA member says most of the admits are informed but they are not sure since they're not connected. Few posts suggest atleast half are notified. They were talking about visit days for admits.

lol. Ofcourse admits and rejects are coming this friday. But admits are already notified and those who didnot get any email are rejects for sure.

well the problem is we all fear admits are already notified and it is rejection through website that is anticipated. Did any make sure no official admits are sent out? There is the trick.

well,yah,it's a day dream and fanciful thought. I googled it out and seems nobody ever had got mails to submit their LORs. Mostly it's from POI. And again,am thrown into uncertainity. Actually i missed all 3 letters i didn't mail the link to my recommenders and it's said letters can arrive till early Jan. Let me assume it's over for this year and go with a mediocre job or something !!!

MIT's FAQ page regarding admission says that ' a very strong candidate for admission will contacted by e-mail by our graduate office in case of any missing documentation'. just read it now. http://www.eecs.mit.edu/academics-admissions/graduate-program/faqs i got a mail from their office on Jan 3rd asking me to contact my recommenders and ask them to mail their letters soon . Is it any indication of mine application being in consideration?

another week(or maybe two) of waiting? Heaven keep me alive till then. Am so desperate to know the results and move on !!!!!!! Except 3 results,all others lacked credibility. One of the result in elec. Engg. Is just copied from a previous year Elec. Engg results. :-( :-( :-(

did anybody read the latest poster in MIT results? The person says he called MIT and the results would be out next week and says that the college claimed the applications are still being reviewed and only few lucky persons got the admit. And the results maybe delayed till march 1. We just can't believe what is going on. Whether to hope or prepare for defeat or to move on itself is a big dilemma here :-( :-(

any updates EEPHDJY? Received the official mail? I found a poster in results saying that results may come next week and maybe late till march 1 too. Any authentic info?

you are in,whatever !! :-D well i applied for EE too and didn't get any email from grad-ap except a mail on jan 3 to submit my letters of recommendation,which i did dutifully. So i guess it's a reject

but area 2 is biggest among the department and they sorta have some autonomy i guess. I saw 2 (or maybe 3 ) admits in electrical engineering but all are international:2 chinese and 1 iran.it sounded odd. Also most of the admits posted as computer science instead of eecs which made me assume so. Last year results had more EECS. Well yes,my hope has tickled to zero but just looking for the steady ground of rejection.wait list has high possibility though. But again only one or two out of 50 is taken from that. So it is equivalent to rejection.

those are fakes ! The feb 7 admits sound genuine to me. And they are more for computer science stream. Well,i am drained out in case of hope. It has been MIT's tradition to send email admits and update online server so the rejects can know their fate in liquid crystal display. I applied last year too
