  1. Hi! Since I went to York for my undergrad, and all my references were from York, i 'think' the reason why I was quickly accepted to York's MA program was that I am a home student. I got waitlisted at McMaster for a similar program, but finally made it in. Don't lose hope! If it's meant to be, it'll happen. Best of luck
  2. SFU! Even though I am a York student, I am at a point now that I'd prefer anything over York. lol
  3. I actually JUST got accepted into the program. YAY lol
  4. Hi! I am hoping to find out if anyone who applied to program has received offers/rejections/waitlists? Who's got an offer but is going to decline? Please let me know, as this is my top priority program and I have been waitlisted since ever =(

  6. So you've decided to go to Brock? No to McMaster's Globalization program?
  7. Yes I think that will help. Try your best, you've got nothing to lose. An additional letter will only help boost your application.
  8. For MA, I have been offered 15K for 5 terms which is pretty much the standard.
  9. I actually found a chance to speak to Steve Bailey at York last Friday and he said he had just signed the funding papers which have now gone for mailing. So if all goes right, we should be receiving our funding offers in mail by Monday or Tuesday.
  10. Thanks for all your responses everyone! They're all very helpful..... I haven't yet decided but I'm still thinking on what would be my best bet if I am to do my PHD in future.
  11. Hi everyone, I've been accepted to a couple of programs both of which are great. My only concern is that one's 1 year and the other one is 2 year MA program. I'm wondering if that really makes a difference. I'm probably going to be pursing PHD studies sometime in the future, and I'm not too sure if doing a 1 year MA program would make any difference to my potential of getting in. At this point, a lot of people have told me to do 1 year and get it done, but I'm getting second thoughts. Do PHD programs prefer 2 year MA applicants? Do they prefer someone who has done thesis over MRP? Any opinions on this?
  12. Any PHD students who've received their funding info? Any idea how long do they take after the website status changes to "admitted"?
  13. I'll probably turn it down as well.... I'm only waiting until they send out the funding info... Feels great anyway ..will share my info as well.
  14. I applied to York... they haven't sent out any email or funding info as of yet. But just this morning my status changed to admitted Best of luck!!!
