I went into the office yesterday to find out how long would it take since I have other offers waiting, and they said I should ask for an extension until 2nd week of April. By that time, she said, everyone should know if they're accepted or rejected. Let us see now.

Hopefully in three weeks, if not all, some of us will hear from York. They're sending out their first round of offers end of March hopefully. Fingers crossed!!

I applied to 4 programs of which 2 have put me on waitlist. Got accepted for one and still waiting for the last decision to be made. I have a feeling that if you're on multiple wait list, it's highly likely that you will get into one. Keep your fingers crossed

If you go to Ryerson, or you know people in the department, it's highly likely that you find out that stuff through people around you...

Just got accepted to McMaster's Globalization Studies program as well. So anyone waiting to hear from them should keep their fingers crossed

Let's keep the fingers crossed. They said they admit about 20 students at York, and 20 at Ryerson. And the program seems to have become a bit too popular in comn.

Just out of curiosity... Has anyone applied to McMaster's MA in communication and new media? I believe they sent out decisions already.

They said they'll be sending out decisions end of March. I found out that the admissions committee is going over the applications these days.

Since I went to York for my undergrad, one of my most amazing profs told me NOT to go to York's comn/cult if I have another better option. On asking why he said their administration is pretty messed up and they take more students than they can really accommodate.. So the program's really not as super as many students expect it to be. The classes are mostly made up of student discussion, and there is not a lot of new things that are taught. I'm not sure if it is something that we should base our decisions upon, and I am definitely not trying to bad rep. the program, but it's something genuine that I was told by a professor I sincerely look up to. Thought I'd share.... p.s. i feel at the end, it's not the program, it's our potential that matters.

Hi!! Finally I find someone who has applied to Comn. Congrats on your acceptance!!! I actually recently got waitlisted to McMaster's comn program and reaallllly wanna go there. I've also applied to York's comn/cult. Where else have you applied btw?

Thanks! I am worried because I got waitlisted for one of the programs. If I know the date by which Mac requires accepted students to respond to the offers, it'll kinda help me figure things out for myself.
