I agree with most of this but I think rent is closer to 140 pounds a week rather than per month. College accommodation probably starts around 80 pounds per week minimum.

Chances/Recommendations for American Politics
PoliSciEntist replied to mppguy's topic in Political Science Forum
Michigan sounds ideal as you could do the joint PhD in Political Science/Public Policy = One of the top departments for American politics + one of the top departments for public policy (ford school) -
I was under the impression PoliSci isn't being ranked this year. http://www.usnews.com/education/blogs/college-rankings-blog/2012/02/15/best-graduate-schools-rankings-launch-march-13

Random question, trying to gauge what the usual amount of contact is with faculty/students after receiving an offer? From 2 schools I received emails from 1 POI whereas from another I have received emails from three faculty members and a student. Just wondering. -

Ah ok. Interesting though as only requesting the information at such a late stage provides ample room for speculation... Let's hope it means you're being considered as a serious contender! -

I don't know but did you not fill one out straight after you submitted the application (in that separate financial application that was linked to after you submitted your application). Or is this different? -
Just to point out that the original post is from 2008

Long time lurker, first time poster. Hi all, feels like I know you already (admittedly, that sounded creepy). Decided I'd finally join in properly to let people know that UNC have just accepted me via email (comparative) and that people should not count themselves out yet.
