I am in the exact same situation as you are, but my major is in structural engineering. Have no idea if this fellowship application has been short-listed or every applicant received the same email.
Still waiting to hear back the results from UIUC, Stanford, UMich, Columbia, and UW-seattle. Waiting for funding decision from Georgia Tech, they said the decision will be made in Late Mar. Things make me so nervous.
Hi folks,
I got an acceptance letter (PhD) yesterday but it was said the funding decision will not be made until late Mar. I acutally have contacted one of my POI before but he siad he is out of money this year. So what should I do now? Contact the admission office asking for TA positions? Or do nothing until the decision is made and see what they offer me (fellowship?) I mean would it be silly if I ask for TA but actually they are thinking to offer me a fellowship? Thanks for any advice.
My stats:
Grad: US top 10 university, GPA: 4.8/5
Undergrad: International, GPA: 3.9/4, ranked #1 out of 51
GRE: V490/Q800/A3.0
Publication: Only if MS thesis counts
Professional Experience: 2 years industry experience
Status: Male, US citizen.
I actually didn't mention any faculties in my SOP but I am kind of regret. I applied to eight schools and most of them are top 10 ranked. I'm not optimistic about my application because I don't have a competitive research background. Hope we all can have good results.
I got the invitation letter on 14 Feb. It came through an email and the visitation day is 9-10 Mar. I propably won't go because I actually live outside the US.
Does anyone receive the letter regarding the visitation day from Ga Tech? Does the attendance matter to the admissions? Or it is just an invitation for all the applicants. Confused.
