UNC was the first school I heard from. When I talked to them in January I was told that they will be admitting more people depending on the interest they get from their first round of acceptances. I'm seriously considering going there. What are people's impressions of the program? It's ranked the same as Harvard, Chicago, and Stanford, but I feel like I hear a lot less about it...
I applied to Columbia's PhD program and selected the option to also be considered for the MA as a second choice. I've already gotten into all the other schools I've applied to, and would no longer consider doing the MA (even though I would still love to do their PhD program). Would anyone recommend contacting the school to withdraw my MA application? I'm afraid that since I also applied to the MA, they may not consider me as strongly for the PhD program. I know that some decisions have already gone out, so I think I need to act quickly. Thanks!
Has anyone heard about dates for UCLA? I need to book my ticket to visit UCSB and UCSD. I haven't heard anything yet from UCLA, but just in case, it would be nice to only book one flight out to California.
