  1. Thanks for the update. I did the same and there it was. No email notification yet.
  2. the results page here: https://www.thegradcafe.com/survey/index.php people are kind enough to share when they hear back.
  3. To the Hopkins crew, looks like some waitlist results are coming out starting at the Global Health track. Likely working their way down the list, track by track, again today.
  4. That's my expectation too. Maybe they left a few slots in some of the concentrations to later "argue it out," For instance, there may be people who the admissions committee maybe be really struggling to make a determination between, but in general, I think it's a no for most of us waiting.
  5. Congrats! I'll assume I'm a pass this year then since that was my track, and my application is still "under review"! 🙂 Good luck on the fellowship!
  6. Oh, that's great to know! Thank you. I was going off of the website deadline. Nice to know they will likely make the decisions a tad faster. Good luck to you.
  7. Absolutely agreed. Public health, specifically, is a field where age and experience will only help you as you go. As you see more of the world, see system gaps and where/why they exist, you can better see where you might be able to change it for the better. I pivoted drastically in my mid-20's, and again in my early 30's. If I get in, fantastic; if I don't, there are other pathways, and this one might just be put on pause. I've done everything I could; it will be what it will be.
  8. DrPH only offers funding through the Fellowship program. They will begin reviewing Fellowship applications after acceptances are sent out (only accepted candidates are reviewed). No other funding is provided for DrPH candidates. Everyone should know by end of March if they get a fellowship slot.
  9. I know that feeling! After every result, I'm refreshing my phone 🤣Spent the morning filling out birthday cards for my son, and trying to get my head back in the game for meetings this afternoon. Refreshing data spreadsheets is not a cognitive intensive enough task right now to distract me.
  10. Health Policy and Management Track - Overdose Prevention Fellowship. No interview. I did meet with a faculty member and, then later on, with a member of the Bloomberg Overdose Prevention Initiative project back in August though to share my goals and see if it would be a fit.
  11. Interviews are rare and in the minority across all the tracks, I believe. Likely there's a fit question, or clarification the admission committee wants, that they didn't garner from the application itself. So it's really a "let me double check that specific candidate." The Bloomberg Overdose Prevention candidate I spoke to was never interviewed, nor was she aware of anyone in her cohort who was. She said, "maybe one or two?"
  12. Too highly qualified applicants! We're giving them a run for their money. 😆
  13. No problem. It would be far more efficient for someone to call, but I just never have the energy for that! 😅
  14. Nope! I had gone off of the previous years and their website that says, "Communications of offers: Early March." Going through the results searches over the last few years: Here's the spread I see on here: 2023: March 1st (Wednesday) 2022: March 1-3rd (Tuesday-Thursday) 2021: March 2nd (Tuesday) 2020: March 3rd (Tuesday) 2019: March 11th (Monday) 2018: March 7th (Wednesday) 2019 is an outlier, I'm not sure if that was someone waitlisted or they pushed back acceptances that year from COVID? Either way, without calling, my assumption on previous trends are we should hear back this week.
  15. Hope everyone has a busy weekend planned to keep their minds off of it!
  16. Quite possibly. 😭the website does say "early March." so next week would be early March!
  17. It's a fair assumption that it should either be this Friday or early next week, but there's no guarantee when it comes to anything administrative. I'm really hoping I know THIS Friday though.
  18. ^This^ I'm also being scored this week for a job role that would significantly bump up by income by about $15k a year. I'll be on the hiring list, but that score will determine whether it's likely I'll be interviewed. They only interview the top two at a time. All my nails are chewed off as I wait! 😆
  19. Agreed! I hope everyone is hanging in there though. It will go by so much faster than any of us realize. I'm also happy to see everyone hearing back. It's nice to see all the updates.
  20. Just for clarification sake - Hopkins DrPH is still awaiting results. From past years, we'll likely know in 2 weeks.
  21. Definitely doable. I spoke to a current DrPH student working with the Bloomberg Overdose Prevention Initiative Project last fall. She worked full time in addition to having a toddler. She initially thought that she would have to move a bit slower (only 1 class at a time) but was able to balance 2-3. The program expects people to be working full-time really.
  22. I think this is really program specific. I had outreached to JHU faculty ahead of applying because what I want to look into is very niche and I really need to create an advisory team no matter where I applied (cross section of Intellectual Disability and Substance Use). When I outreached to faculty at JHU, I was informed it was very rare. Most of the connections basically said "no" and dismissed any follow-ups. I did meet with one super helpful professor who introduced me to her team and connected me with regional resources. I was informed that JHU has a matching process, so my outreach was considered unnecessary. However, on my end I thought it was vital since I did not want to waste my time and energy applying to a school if no one would be able/willing to work with me. For reference, I applied to Health Policy and Management.
  23. Your undergraduate degree program only matters to your graduate program. After that, your graduate degree program will only matter to your first few years into the job market. Usually your first job only. After that, usually only the degree itself only matters - not where you received it. There are a few exceptions (i.e. research connections helping out your company), but that's incredibly rare. In short, save your money. Your frugalness and going to a solid university will help your narrative more as being pragmatic and future thinking. In addition to set you up for financial success in your personal life.
  24. Philadelphia is very doable, as are the Philadelphia suburbs depending on where you go in Philly. I've lived in Philly for 8 years without needing to drive. You have trains, buses, trolley, and the subway system. Is is very comprehensive. Most places are within a 20-45 minutes trip for $3.25 at most (one transfer). However some areas routes just not great - for instance from NE to NW Philadelphia. It's a 30 minute car ride at most, but a 80-90 minute bus ride.
