  1. I read somewhere that last year's PAD application and such were due February 28 (a Monday). Ours were due March 1 (a Thursday), so not much of a difference. I can't seem to find any information on the 2010-2011 forums about the PAD (but I did see they received their finalist status later than us). I wish they could be a bit more clear on when we would find out, rather than the "relatively soon" comment someone received in an E-mail response last Thursday.
  2. I am torn as to what time I think they will send it: if they send it during normal hours, they may be bombarded all day with E-mails and calls, but if they send it after hours they will just be bombarded the following day. But maybe if they are bombarded the next day they can brace themselves for it a bit more? I definitely think it will happen this week, but I don't know when. And I am extremely nervous.
  3. I wonder if Cara Doble is still out of the office...knowing that would help us know if Germany ETAs could even be notified each day.
  4. I doubt we'll hear today too. I E-mailed Cara Doble just to see if she was still out of the office and sure enough I received the automated "out of the office on leave" response. I am also guessing she receives a lot of E-mails asking when we will find out because the E-mail included this: "Please note: for 2012-13 applicants, notifications regarding selections will be made once IIE receives the following: 1) Country Decisions, 2) Budget confirmations and 3) Fulbright Foreign Scholarship Board (http://exchanges.state.gov/academicexchanges/fulbright/ffsb.html) approvals. The notification time for each country worldwide varies and can extend through April. We rely on your patience during this grant decision time." I wish we knew this sort of information!
  5. My school has had quite a number of Germany ETAs over the past few years, and for the most part they received 1 of their top 3 choices, but not always. All but one ETA in the past ~10 years from my school loved their placement. The other just had mixed feelings because the town was so small and the school never had a Fulbright ETA before.
  6. I'd guess before the end of next week. Ideally tonight/tomorrow though. For all we know, they have the E-mails completely prepared with a sent send-time on them, so all of a sudden when it hits that day/time they will all go out.
  7. I was wondering this too. Typically, Germany applicants (Full and ETA) have received notification via mail, but it seems the Germany full grants are receiving E-mails this year. I would get nervous/excited every time I heard the new E-mail notification sound, so I muted my laptop, assuming that all notifications are coming via E-mail.
  8. Waiting to hear about Germany ETA is killing me. I wonder if we'll get an E-mail or regular mail. It seems ETAs for Germany typically find out anywhere between 1-20 days after Full grants are notified.
  9. I have 2 questions to those of you applying for an ETA in Germany. Wie lange soll der Lebenslauf sein? Habt ihr auch einfach deine Statement of Grant Purpose oder Personal Statement in deutscher Sprache übersetzt? (für das Anschreiben) Danke!
